Oh boy

If such rumors are true, Erdo and Turkey is screwed!
Now if Turkey refused, The West will use this chance to portray Turkey and turks as infidels, scumbags, invaders, genociders etc; in order to fuel anti-Turkey sentiment further even though the Turks (throughout the last 2 decades) have been the most pro-active country among NATO members

If Turkey accepted, the West will give Turkey the middle finger and let Turkey face Russia alone when push comes to shove; in addition to that, Russia might stop the nuclear deal between Turkey and Russia which means Turkish scientists studying nuclear tech in Russia will return (if they arent killed) and Turkish energy dependency will persist for some more years and lets not mention Syria and Libya

Honestly, a sinister yet cunning move by the US. Turkey's response may set Turkey's foreign policy for the next 1.5 years and there may be no going back
Both are evils tbh. I wonder which is the lesser one
I wonder how Erdo will wiggle out of this mess (if he can though)
Turkey can replace Russia with Ukraine. Or Pakistan.

Additionally, Turkish academics are studying thorium just fine on their own and could even suggest to co-operate with India on the subject.

You really don't want to end up depending on Russia for energy needs. Russia knows better than anyone that if enough European nations go nuclear, then they won't need Russia's energy reserves and then Russian influence will take a massive hit. They've already been blackmailing Turkey enough.

Russian military patrols area near US-controlled zone in Syria

Russian military units have started patrolling the demarcation line between the areas controlled by the United States-led coalition forces and Russian forces in eastern Syria, Russian officials said Monday.

"It's the boundary that divides the territory controlled by the international anti-terrorist coalition, the 'East' zone, and the 'West' zone controlled by Russia's forces. Until now, there were no patrols by Russian servicemen," a spokesperson for Russia's military was quoted as saying.

The spokesperson said there were potential Daesh sleeper cells in the area and that Russia's military was trying to demonstrate its presence.

Russian forces had been replacing U.S. troops as they withdrew from some bases following the launch of Turkey's Operation Peace Spring on Oct. 9, 2019, against the YPG terrorists in northeastern Syria.

Since then, Russia has continuously intensified its military presence east of the Euphrates, including in the areas under YPG control, increasing the number of its military bases and posts.

There are currently 18 Russian military bases and posts in the areas under YPG control east of the Euphrates, namely in Hassakeh, Raqqa, and Manbij and Ain al-Arab (Kobani) in Aleppo.

Military analysts claim that such a rapid increase in Russian presence may destabilize its military balance with the U.S. in the region.

Russia's efforts to form military units in Hassakeh were foiled by the U.S in the past. Russia tried to reach the Rmeilan oil fields, east of Qamishli, but the U.S. soldiers prevented them.

In retaliation, Russia stopped the U.S. soldiers trying to reach Qamishli, forcing them to return to Rmeilan.

While the YPG continues its occupation of the majority of Hassakeh, the Bashar Assad regime controls the Kevkep Mountain at the center of the province. Regime forces also have an airport in Qamishli, a military brigade and a security branch. Some state institutions in the province are also under the control of the Assad regime.

YPG delegation to hold meeting with Russian officials

Adelegation led by Ilham Ahmed, one of the ringleaders of the YPG, the PKK terrorist group’s Syrian wing, is to visit Moscow to hold talks, Rudaw reported on Monday.

It said that the delegation would meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and discuss the activities of Turkey and the Syrian National Army (SNA) as well as a possible operation.

The PKK is designated a terrorist organization by the U.S., Turkey and the European Union, but not by Russia.

Tensions have spiked since two Turkish police officers were killed a month ago in a missile attack in northern Syria carried out by the YPG. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said the attack was "the final straw," though Ankara has given no indication an operation is imminent.

Previous Turkish operations have been preceded by lengthy buildups and large movements of Turkish forces at the border, which have yet to be observed this time.

Ankara has not committed to action and has given little detail on plans if a decision is taken.

I honestly lost all hope for an operation in Syria
If they wanted to do so, it would have started long ago

Although some rumors do indicate that an operation will occur but it takes time for the TSK to move troops to the operation area unnoticed

Turkey builds ‘new city’ in Idlib for displaced Syrians

Turkey builds ‘new city’ in Idlib for displaced Syrians

Turkey has established a new residential region in Syria’s northwestern province of Idlib to host all the Syrians displaced from their houses amid the civil war in the country that has been going on since 2011.

The construction of some 30,000 out of the planned 50,000 brick houses in the Meshed Ruhin village, some 5 kilometers away from the Turkish border, has been finished, with some 180,000 Syrians having already started living in Idlib’s “new city.”

According to the UNHCR, there are 6.2 million people, including 2.5 million children, displaced within Syria, the biggest internally displaced population in the world.

Idlib, which once had 1.1 million population, became a shelter for those displaced people due to its close location to the border as the population of the city skyrocketed to some 5 million recently.

Aiming to stop a new influx of Syrians to its soil, Turkey, which already hosts more than 3.6 million Syrians, rolled up their sleeves to build a “new city in Idlib” last year.

With Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) and the Red Crescent’s massive efforts, some 30,000 brick houses, a school, a hospital, and parks for children, a small mall and a center for women have been constructed in short time.

Some 180,000 people living in the tents started accommodating in Idlib’s “new city” as officials highlighted that some 20,000 more briquette houses will be constructed in the near future.

“Turkey has been conducting a huge operation in Syria - which the whole world turns their back and deaf ears to,” Kerem Kınık, the head of Turkish Red Crescent said on Nov. 28.

“We built houses. People are living in properties they call ‘our houses.’ They feel safer now,” he added.

Giving a hand to the constructions is not the only thing Turkey’s Red Crescent did so far. The agency supplies some 30,000 bread and some 200 tons of water daily to the new city’s civilians.

Most of the bread is produced in bakeries in different parts of the region.

“Turkey has stopped irregular migration with this operation,” Kınık said.

Kurdish parents protest YPG/PKK's abduction of children in Syria

BY DAILY SABAH WITH AGENCIES

ISTANBUL NOV 29, 2021 - 8:58 AM GMT+3

Parents of children who were kidnapped by the PKK’s Syrian offshoot YPG staged a protest in front of the United Nations headquarters in Qamishli, according to footage shared on Twitter.

Nearly 30 people gathered outside the U.N. headquarters to demand action, after several children, reportedly girls, were forcefully recruited by the YPG.

The protesters carried banners saying: “Bring back our children” and “Child recruitment sows panic in the heart of mothers.”

Mohammad Sharif said his 16-year-old daughter had been missing for almost a week.

“I want my daughter to come back home,” he told Agence Presse-France (AFP), adding that he believes she could be with the Women’s Protections Units (YPJ), the terrorist YPG’s women’s branch.

Balqis Hussein, 45, said her daughter had been missing for eight days.

She said she didn’t know if her child had been abducted by the YPG or joined voluntarily.

“We fear for the future of our children, they should not be recruited or made to hold weapons,” she said.

A United Nations report stated that the YPG has been recruiting children to fight among its ranks, adding that the organization has enlisted at least 400 children in the past two years.

According to the report, which documented violations toward children in Syria between July 2018 and June 2020, the YPG have continued to use children as fighters and store ammunition in schools. It pointed out the 236 attacks on schools and protected persons, of which 33 occurred in the second half of 2018, 154 in 2019 and 49 in the first half of 2020. During the incidents, members of staff were killed, maimed or arrested, and 133 children were killed or injured while at school.

While more than 400 children were used as fighters during the period, the YPG also carried out at least 4,700 rights violations toward children, including abduction and rape.

In June 2019, YPG terrorists signed a joint action plan with the U.N. to end and prevent child recruitment, but since its signing, the U.N. has confirmed at least 160 cases.

The YPG’s use of child soldiers has been repeatedly documented and criticized by international human rights organizations, including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch (HRW).

The U.S. has primarily partnered with the YPG in northern Syria in the fight against the Daesh terrorist group. Turkey strongly opposes the YPG's presence in northern Syria, which has been a major sticking point in strained Ankara-Washington relations. The U.S. has provided military training and thousands of truckloads of weaponry to the YPG, despite its NATO ally's security concerns.

Local people living in areas held by the YPG have long suffered from its atrocities, as the terrorist organization has a notorious record of human rights abuses, ranging from kidnappings, recruitment of child soldiers, torture, ethnic cleansing and forced displacement.

Since its foundation, the PKK has forcibly taken at least one child from families who do not "pay taxes" in support of the group. To fill its ranks, the PKK has continuously raided villages and kidnapped young adults from the ages of 15 to 20 through violent means. In addition to forced conscription, the PKK also conducts propaganda campaigns that mainly target university students. The terrorist group's approach has remained largely consistent, according to statements by captured or surrendered members of the organization.

Well he’s friends with MBZ, so it’s possible he may hug Assad again. That move would make it harder for Russia to mediate as YPG would hold on harder to what they have

Turkish military digs giant ditch to thwart YPG/PKK attacks in Syria

BY DAILY SABAH

ISTANBUL NOV 30, 2021 - 11:18 AM GMT+3

The Turkish military dug a 230-kilometer (143-mile) trench along the critical M4 highway traveling through Syria's Ras al-Ain and Tal Abyad regions in the face of growing terrorist attacks and infiltration attempts by the PKK’s Syrian offshoot, the YPG.

Turkish soldiers and Syrian National Army (SNA) forces keep guard duty along the ditches, Hürriyet daily reported Tuesday.

The ditch is 4 meters (13 feet) deep and 4 meters wide and has been dug to prevent YPG/PKK terrorists from crossing into the region, thus ensuring stability in the area north of the M4 highway.

The giant ditch also allows Turkey to ensure border security 35 kilometers deep into Syria, preventing YPG/PKK terrorists from launching attacks.

The Turkish military has also set up five different control points following frequent car bomb attacks by the YPG in Ras al-Ain and Tal Abyad.

Tal Abyad is populated mostly by Arabs and was occupied by the Daesh terrorist group in 2014. A year later, the YPG took control of the town with the support of the United States-led coalition. Tal Abyad was later cleared of terrorists via Operation Peace Spring on Oct. 13, 2019.

Locals living in areas held by the YPG have long suffered from its atrocities, as the terrorist organization has a notorious record of human rights abuses, ranging from kidnappings, recruitment of child soldiers, torture, ethnic cleansing and forced displacement.

The terrorist group increased its oppression ahead of Turkey's cross-border operation, planting explosives and converting many schools and other public buildings into military bases, with some even hosting tunnels for terrorists to hide in and escape.

After liberating the town from the YPG last year, Turkey rolled up its sleeves to launch a normalization period in Tal Abyad, which borders the Akçakale district of southeastern Turkey’s Şanlıurfa.

Ras al-Ain was similarly liberated during the operation. However, the YPG/PKK terrorists continue attacks in Ras al-Ain and the nearby city of Tal Abyad despite pulling out of areas under a deal reached by Turkey and the U.S. on Oct. 17, 2019.

In September, the Turkish military deployed more troops on the M4 highway.

Turkish soldiers are currently stationed in the region to protect the local population and support counterterrorism groups. Despite the military escalation, Ankara has also been keeping diplomatic channels active with Russia in the hope of finding a political solution, urging the country to uphold the peace agreements and ensure an immediate cease-fire.

the russians didn't activate it or they did activate the radars but with no attack order ( with mutual understanding from both sides ) . no matter how powerful or capable putin is , he can't or don't dare to shoot the f-35 because he knows that this will open a hell that will literality make him kneel like a dog .

Thats an answer from the Russian playbook to everything, from Pantsir to S300/400 in Syria, in order to protect the reputation of their equipment.
