EDAS with cold launch would be much better in there i think, that is just next to engine intakes.

Tubitak's EDAS should be funded along MIDLAS of Roketsan, both will have their own unique applications.
With EDAS: no risks on throwing rocket exhaust into gas turbine air intakes
no need to make cuts through deck and an exhaust system.

this could be the most important thing from that presentation . what I think is the future plane or new configuration for Istanbul class will be 16 vls infront - 16 vls back next to the intakes .

This is smart. Penetration to the deck is minimal. 16x VLS is a good capability. A possible Milgem modernization with Hisar missiles and Nazar laser hardkill system will add real depth to those ships and I class can possibly have 32x VLS. 16x VLS for Hisar missiles and 16x Midlas VLS for a combination of Hisar and Siper missiles. This way I class can become a light AAW frigate.

Isn't x32 basically Destroyer level?

Who is anmdt after all, just a peasant :). Ibrahim Sunnetci's information about deliveries of the Reis class.

Translation:
The delays on deliveries are linked to covid and export licenses, and related to only some parts. There is no open embargo or there isn't any major delays in the progress.

According to the Naval Forces' Planning, MİDLAS will be able to use a total of 64 (16x4) ESSM Block 2 or 16 HİSAR or HİSAR + ESSM Block 2 Mixed settlements as quadpacks.

Since MIDLAS is a national launcher, ESSM integration requires an "umbilical port" (the connection system called the umbilical cord between the missile and the launcher). ROKETSAN has started to work on the development of an umbilical port-like system required for ESSM integration for MIDLAS as well.

Reis project was always gonna be finished. Germany will try everything to delay it but in the end we will get our 6 Subs after which Turkeys Business relationship with Germany at least for major platforms will end. Maybe we can see it continue for smaller parts in the future. But for now after Reis that will be it.

Germany has no interest to incur the punishments that would come with cancellation of the project while it nears the end. Neither can TKMS can survive such a move.

People need to think rational and logical. I hate this panic mode our experts go into every other month about some project.

Cancelling a billions dollar worth contract isn’t that easy.

If this is true it would be incredible that the US gave permission for ESSM to be integrated into MIDLAS. As a short term solution until our own products are ready it would be greats. Especially Block 2 which is very advanced.
