Yes, using MX-15 level FLIR for TB2 is overkill. Anka is fine with MX-15 though. Most of the time TB2 operates under 20k feet and closer to the target. There is no need to get insane-quality videos from 100+km with TB2. With a more appropriate EO targeting system, TB2 can be even more cost-effective. MX-15 is really expensive and MX-15 covers a big portion of the cost associated with a TB2.
On the contrary, quality is what made TB2 that popular.

Otherwise it would have been just one of those tactical drones, nothing special

Perfect export potential for countries with low-budget for defence acquisitions. Shipped with Mam-C.
Bozok would work too and trading ammo with fuel even 4 Bozok can be considered.

Mission specific platforms were the norm, then multi purpose platforms were developed to provide cost effectivness. nowadays multi purpose is almost synonymous with cost effectivness. Beyond expectations TB2 as it iS, has proved itself as an extraordinally sucessful example of a multi purpose platform. in brief MX 15 is not or F-500C will be not be an overkill.

Is there any project to develop a more developed version of Aselpod with newer sensors?

Feasibility Studies Started for Domestic AWACS

Work has started for domestic AWACS production. According to the information obtained by Virtualsavunma.com, feasibility studies have started for the domestic production of AWACS, namely Havadan Erken İkaz ve Kontrol (HIK) Aircraft, which the Air Force Command plans to use in the future.
AWACS aircraft, which enable air, land and surface naval platforms to be detected from long distances without being stuck on the horizon line of the world, include an advanced radar and are considered among strategic weapon systems, are among the indispensables of air combat.
Boeing-manufactured E-7T aircraft, which have been successfully performing their duties since they entered service in 2015, are among the most critical and advanced systems in the hands of the Air Force Command. However, this does not prevent the Turkish Air Force from procuring a domestic Airborne Early Warning and Control Aircraft whose critical data are known only to Turkey.
As a result of the developing defense industry ecosystem, many of our companies, especially Military Electronics Industry (ASELSAN) and Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), develop important technologies in the field of aircraft and electronic systems. Domestic AESA radars, which will be used in domestic platforms such as electronic warfare aircraft Hava SOJ and F-16, Bayraktar Akıncı, MİUS, Hürjet and National Combat Aircraft, can be given as an example to this situation.
The Integrated RF System (BURFIS), developed by ASELSAN for the National Combat Aircraft, is the most advanced air-based AESA radar being developed in our country. Virtualsavunma.com, on the other hand, within the scope of the right to obtain information to learn whether our defense industry will undertake a larger project after this advanced radar, "Will the Air Force Command have a domestic AWACS hysteria?" He asked the question to the Defense Planning and Project Management Presidency.
“Feasibility studies have been started on the subject and the public will be informed according to the results.
DEFENSE PLANNING AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT.”

The present E-7T Peace Eagle AWACS aircrafts
Negotiations for a domestic AWACS started with the USA in November 2000, and Airborne Early Warning and Control (HIC) aircraft were ordered from Boeing in 2003. In 2014, the first E-7T Peace Eagle aircraft was delivered to the Turkish Air Force by Boeing. (See; Gökhan Missile will be used first in the F-16 and then
A MESA radar produced by the US company Northrop Grumman is used in E-7T Peace Eagle aircraft. This MESA radar, which is 360 degrees and can be used operationally in all weather conditions, has a range of more than 400 km at an altitude of 10,000 meters. E-7Ts can theoretically detect 1500 targets simultaneously.
There are 4 of these systems, which can operate at altitudes of 41,000 Dr. and have a range of 3,500 nm, in the Turkish Air Force inventory. 2 options are not used. In the future, feasibility studies have started for the domestic AWACS, which is planned to be developed to be used with E-7Ts.

Yes but as far as I know the main sensor of F-500C is an MWIR 1280*720 15-micron sensor. If I'm not mistaken the new ROIC you posted belongs to a SWIR sensor. F-500C will also have SWIR so maybe it might be related to that.

Actually, I mentioned earlier that it has a SWIR sensor. If I wrong remember, Aselflir R400D had been with 15 micron 1024*768 MWIR sensor. On F5OOC will be MWIR 1280*1024 and 15 micron.

Ok bro. Already I didn't say different thing.
You said this

Actually, I mentioned earlier that it has a SWIR sensor. If I wrong remember, Aselflir R400D had been with 15 micron 1280*720 MWIR sensor. On F5OOC will be MWIR 1280*1024 and 15 micron.
R400D doesn't have a 1280*720 15-micron MWIR sensor.
Here is the proof it has a 1024*768 15-micron MWIR sensor.

This picture also clearly states that the sensor resolution is 1024*768 not 1280*720 as you claimed above.

Aselsan must put all it's focus on F-500C , otherwise they will lose the CATS market for a very long time
