It is LPI AESA+ELINT/RWR+DRFM ECM+HD resolution FLIR vs slotted planar array radar, semi-active missile and old RWR which Turkey knows everything about.

Early 4th gen will be blinded and outranged in detection by Akinci. Racetrack flying Akinci can detect aircraft at more than 100km with HD FLIR and keep it fixed on F-16 even while turning its back.

It is early 4th gen technology vs 5th gen technology on turboprop aircraft. Akinci while not being a fighter enters a new gray zone. Drones make new rules and soon new classifications. Just like TB2 has done.

Are you even aware what are you "trying" to talk about ?
You earlier have claimed Akıncı to be one level above 4th gen, now talking about 5th gen technology on Akıncı. Do you even know what a 5th Gen technology includes?
You are claiming Akıncı with that little power output can do EW and blind the F-16? Are you even aware there is no EW equipment on Akıncı?

"ELINT" ,"DRFM" ,"LPI" dropping every term you know does not make you win the argument, you should as well know LPI mode is a different mode that you wouldn't use while tracking. "ELINT" is something else, it is not electronic warfare, ECM is not electronic attack, but counter-measures and support feature to keep the radar functional under EW.

And who on earth are you to tell anybody to talk on certain subjects?

more than 200km detection

How does it relate to our subject? ,moreover the first video you show: the airplanes are merely a single heat source with no details to help identification. How silly engineers are, lets drop all the EOTS equipments and buy some fancy FLIR from Canada. Meanwhile, not even considering the obstructed angles on the FLIR that is mounted on Akıncı or typically mounted on any aircraft.

Our subject is A2A engagements, lets go back to that.

Biased people who can't accept rapid changes in warfare start twisting and misinterpreting my words. Not going to start discussion.

You should keep reading

I can detect ISS at hundreds of kilometers with my bare eyes, and I can turn my head to see what's behind me.
Just because something is technically true doesn't make it practically true.

Get a telescope, dobsonians are pretty cheap and you'll find out how difficult it is to find something in the sky if you don't know where to look at.
first few tries you won't even be able to find the fvcking moon.

Lot of linear thinking about weapon which is not like that. If Akinci atract engagement of 4, 4.5, 5th gen airfighter it already won the battle. As on the expence of loss of one drone other Turkish aircrafts would deal with attacker in possible battle and rule of engagement scenario...

I personally see Akinci as a good multi-mission tool that is also able to make air engagements if needed. In recent times we see that Turkey haves expeditionary approach at countering threats around the region and in such scenarios where proper air defence network is not established for different reasons like for example overstretching of our strategic air defence assets Akinci will be perfect with its long range radar, long range missiles and long loitering times for deploying in AA role where deploying our conventional air power is not appropriate. With its selection of compatible missiles with different range I think it will be effective tool in intercepting outdated fighters and other aircraft types effectively without risking personnel's safety and without risking entering enemy air defence umbrella (typical for these scenarios) due to its long range engagement capability.

In different scenarios Akinci can be utilized in a role where it lightens the burden over our conventional air force fleet by prioritizing Akinci for engagement of targets that are slow like helicopters, drones and other types of aircrafts. This will of course need a very strong command and control system and prioritization depending on the size of the conflict but when it comes to the actual capability it is there. We can see Akinci as a modular cost effective solution that can be used for AA roles also if such need arises. The capability in this scenario will be improved further with MIUS but until then I think the Air Forces will play using Akinci and developing tactics taking in account all of the potential and limitations of the platform.

Baykar Sahin image processing can be converted to scan the sky for air targets also. Easier to detect in air than on ground.

In case of single-engine loss, Akıncı and Aksungur can return the base with other the engine, right?
Kind of.
If the plane is fully loaded and its altitude is not high and the airport is far away there may be a risk that the remaining engine gets overworked and fails. Therefore it is good to have more airports.

Passenger planes can glide for more than 120 kilometers even if both of their engines fail.

I wonder if the FLIR camera mounted on the tail of the AKINCI could perform some IRST duties.

There's actually, 1xCCD mounted centrally and 2xFLIR mounted off angle. This setup could be swapped out for a high resolution IRST ball

Rapid Mapping Pod
ujj.jpg

The Baykar Rapid Mapping Pod enables 24 hour turnaround time to generate high-resolution (7cm and less) maps of thousands of square kilometers.

An automated pipeline processes terabytes of data to provide beautiful, orthorectified maps with each pixel accurately georeferenced to within several decimeters. A highly critical addition necessary for scouting and detecting changes.
