Akıncı is not meant to match a specific benchmark, it is meant to be its own plane, dissimilar to the mainstream. It has a bigger frontal cross section which inceases drag but you can tell it is an Akıncı when you see one. They will probably streamline it further but still keep its distinctive basic form.

SAS Pod is Baykar's Sonoboy Atım Sistemi, but that's huge news. But again, 8 per aircraft is a really low number of sonobuoys. Seahawk can carry 25.

It looked to me like a pod carried 4 each. If not, you can't hunt a sub with 4 buoys per aircraft.. Anadolu simply doesn't have the sortie generation capabilities to support sending 4-6 aircraft per sub.

Finding and locating a submarine is a time and resource intensive job. Hunter aircraft usually work in pairs, laying sonobuoys every 3-5 miles in different grid patterns. Finding, locating and "recognizing" a diesel electric sub that doesn't want to be found is very hard work. Drones like TB3 would of course work together with helicopters, but if a TB3 can only carry 4 buoys, what it brings to the table is just not good enough.

Anadolu is a small ship for a carrier. Its runway is necessary for more important assets, the helicopters. Sending out an ISR bird every 4-6-8 hours is very acceptable and a great use of drones, but sending out TB3 armed with buoys every 30-60 minutes is just eating away at other capabilities. We will have at best 20 TB3s on Anadolu at any given time, and a large part will be down for maintenance. Using 2/3 of assigned aircraft because a single TB3 can carry at most 8 buoys(in future, currently 4) is a very bad use of resources.

Yup. Anadolu will hardly be efficient in sortie generation with fixed wing drones. Which is still okay, as I think it will primarily be a training platform for at least next few years. But one gotta also consider, they will send a drone away for up to 12-24 hours. Drone operations do not require that big of sortie generation numbers. Take off and landing of helicopters however will basically stop while drone ops are underway.

Anadolu is not a supercarrier, it's an LHD. In wartime she won't send out sorties of fixed wing aircraft left and right; she will send helicopter groups. Sortie generation and spacing is a problem for all carriers. TB3 launch and retrieval operations can take up to 15-20 minutes for each aircraft; this wouldn't hamper helicopter operations that much.

And Anadolu also have a heli spot on the starboard side behind the Phalanx. We don't know if this is secondary spot to launch, if it can retrieve from there as well; but it exists.

Oh I see. If I understand you correctly, when you have to launch a new TB3 every 30–60 minutes to lay the net from the ship, you will tie up the TCG Anadolu’s flight deck. As the flight deck is tied up, you will be unable to fly the naval helicopters which bear the brunt of the submarine hunt, carrying far more buoys and torpedoes.

I didnt thought that way.

Has anybody tried expendable one-way aerial delivery systems for sonobuoys? Seems like that could be a potential solution for this particular problem.
