A soldier died in Donbass

Over the past day, the separatists violated the ceasefire 11 times, and since the beginning of this day - once, mortally wounding the Ukrainian defender.

Since the beginning of the current day, one shelling has been recorded in the Donbass in the Pavlopol region, in which a serviceman was killed. This was announced on Tuesday, November 2, by the press center of the JFO headquarters.

"On our positions in the direction of Pavlopol, the enemy opened fire from small arms. As a result of hostile actions, one soldier was wounded incompatible with life," the message says.

Over the past day, the separatists violated the ceasefire 11 times, two of which with the use of weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements.

Near Novolugansk, the enemy fired at the positions of our defenders eight times, using 82 mm mortars, grenade launchers of various systems and small arms.

Not far from Svetlodarsk and Vodyanoye, Russian mercenaries used grenade launchers of various systems and small arms.

Near Avdiivka, the invaders fired from 82 mm mortars.

The headquarters said that the Ukrainian defenders opened fire in response to armed provocations, without using weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements, and forced the enemy to stop firing.

Pentagon Watches Possible Russian Troop Buildup Near Ukraine

The Pentagon is monitoring the Ukraine region closely amid reports of a new buildup of Russian troops on the country’s border, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said Monday.

According to The Washington Post, US officials are concerned over unexplained movements of Russian military units in the area.

Videos posted on social media show military trains and truck convoys moving tanks and missiles in Russia’s southwest near Ukraine.

A US official, speaking on the basis of anonymity, confirmed that there had been some movement, though not as large as the surge in Moscow’s forces early this year.

“We’re aware of public reports of unusual Russian military activity near Ukraine,” Kirby told reporters. “We’re going to continue to consult with allies and partners on this issue… As we’ve said before, any escalatory or aggressive actions would be of great concern to the United States.”

The buildup comes just after US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin toured the Black Sea region, stopping in NATO partner states Ukraine and Georgia and alliance full member Romania, to express solidarity and build more support for confronting Russia in the area.

Russia-aligned separatists in eastern Ukraine have been battling Ukrainian government forces since 2014. Also in 2014, Russian troops seized the Crimea region of Ukraine, sparking stiff Western sanctions on the country.

In March, just weeks after President Joe Biden‘s inauguration, Russia massed thousands of troops, heavy military equipment, naval vessels, and aircraft on the Ukraine border and in Crimea, holding them there for weeks and sparking fears of an invasion.

Moscow called the movements an exercise, but many of the military assets remained for weeks, and analysts saw it as a warning to Biden.

Washington has refused to accept Russia’s claim on Crimea and has delivered lethal military aid to Kyiv for use in fighting the separatists.

Moscow has made clear its rejection of any effort to bring Ukraine, a former part of the Soviet Union, into the NATO alliance.

Kirby said that Washington would consult allies and partners on the reported Russian buildup. “We continue to support deescalation in the region and a diplomatic resolution to the conflict in eastern Ukraine,” he said.

The NSDC commented on the pictures of the Russian troops near the border

TEXT: ELENA KACHUROVSKAYA, November 2, 2021, 14:30

The NSDC said that all this equipment was on the border with Ukraine and earlier

Armored units of the Russian Federation, satellite images of which were published by Western media, were there a month ago.

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Alexei Danilov called the Western media reports about the pulling of Russian troops to the border with Ukraine disinformation. He said this on Tuesday, November 2, in a commentary on Radio Liberty.

"There is a deliberate disinformation of the whole society. Let's just say that what they write there does not correspond to reality. Today it does not correspond to reality.
We are watching all the processes, this is disinformation and we do not understand why they are doing it," he said. Danilov.

He also commented on images from satellites released today, which show the accumulation of armored units. Danilov noted that all this equipment was there before.

"Let them show the photographs that were there a month ago, two weeks ago - you will see the same photographs," Danilov stressed, not excluding the possibility that the situation may change in the future.

We will remind, on the eve of the American edition of The Washington Post reported that the United States and the EU are fixing the pulling of Russian troops to the border with Ukraine. At the same time, unusual movements of equipment and military personnel in the western region of the Russian Federation were noted.

Turkey should be involving herself deeply in this conflict. Ukraine falling to Russia is bad news for Turkey. Turkey should be moving in troops and equipment into Ukraine.

Kyiv says 90,000 Russian military units staged near Ukrainian border

Russia has left military units near the Ukrainian border after exercises, with the number of Russian troops in the area now totaling 90,000, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said.

Russian armed forces recently held a series of large-scale drills, including with airborne troops, the ministry said late Tuesday. After the training, units of the 41st Army stayed behind, about 260 kilometers (160 miles) from the Ukrainian border, it said.

"It should be noted that the Russian Federation periodically resorted to the practice of transferring and accumulating military units in order to maintain tensions in the region and political pressure on neighboring states," the ministry said.

This spring, Moscow alarmed Kyiv and Western capitals by building up more than 100,000 troops along the border with Ukraine, though it later ordered them back to base.

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry Monday denied a media report that Russia was building up troops at the border, saying it had not observed an increase in forces or weaponry.

The Politico news outlet said commercial satellite photos taken Monday confirmed recent reports that Russia was once again massing troops and military equipment on the border with Ukraine.

Satellite pictures supplied by United States space company Maxar Technologies showed around 1,000 military vehicles near the Russian town of Yelnya, about 250 kilometers north of the Ukrainian border.

"Based on a review of recent satellite images, the equipment – which includes tanks, armored personnel carriers, self-propelled artillery and associated support equipment – likely began arriving in the area in late September," Maxar said in an emailed comment.

The Kremlin rejected that report and Wednesday said that Russia maintains a military presence on its own territory where it considers it necessary.

Relations between Kyiv and Moscow have plummeted since 2014 when Russia annexed Ukraine's Crimea peninsula and a war broke out between Ukrainian troops and Russian-backed separatist forces in eastern Ukraine, which Kyiv says has killed 14,000 people.

What is the size of the Ukrainian armed forces? If your not willing to fight for it, you cant be expected achieve anything.

Ukraine has an Armed Forces of 209 000 personnel + 900 000 Reservists who can be called up should the need arise

On top of that they have a paramilitary/special police/volunteer militia force of 102 000

Which means that in an event of an unlikely full blown Russian invasion Ukraine could easily amass a force of up to 1.2 million men to defend their homeland. If not more.

Russia will not launch a massive incursion unless they have some sort of game changing weapon we do not know about. Combat Drones? Hypersonic missiles? Super pinpoint accurate rocket artillery? Who knows. In any case it would be a huge bloodbath and become very unpopular amongst the Russian public once tens of thousands of body bags return to Moscow.

Only other way they could pull of an invasion without taking heavy losses is if they explicitly threatened Tactical Nuclear strikes on Ukraine if they used their full arsenal to inflict heavy losses on Russian troops. But then that would open a huge Pandora's box which would hurt Russia's interest as what would stop America to do the same on Venezuala, Syria, Iran etc...

Despite what most people think Ukraine Armed Forces has actually done pretty well since the conflict broke out in 2014. Many seem to forget that Ukraine was in complete disarray as half of it's Armed Forces and Security Establishment was working for Moscow and the Government that the Ukrainian people managed to overthrow was essentially a Russian puppet government. The setbacks in Crimea and Donbass were pretty much inevitable given how much Russian agents and pro-Russia forces had infected security institutions and armed forces.

Most neutral analysts at the time envisioned a scenario in which Pro-Russia forces would take over and hold the cities of Slovyiansk, Mariupol, Kherson, Kharkiv & even Dnipropetrovsk. Has that happened? No. And the successful defence of these places happened at a time when most Ukrainian Armour, SAM systems and Air Planes were grounded in Storage depots and Hangers.

Would Russian Federation afford a massive war currently? İ don't think Putin will disturb his comfort with a massive war.

A three-year investigation of weapon supplies into Donetsk and Luhansk

Since 2018, CAR field investigation teams have carried out forensic documentation of the military equipment that has been recovered from armed formations of the self-declared Donetsk and Luhansk 'People's Republics' (DPR and LPR) in eastern Ukraine.

This report is the result of a three-year study into the supply sources of weapons, ammunition, vehicles, armour, and artillery used in the conflict.

First Russian puppets had claimed that Russia would invade Kiev. Having understood it was impossible, their new argument is "Europe is blind, Ukraine under blockade.

Before claiming Ukraine is under energy blockade , you had better look at how much Ukrainian pipe line exports natural gas.

In the US, they started talking about a possible invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine - media

12 November 2021,

1636700858836.png

Washington is concerned about the situation near the Ukrainian border

Washington warned Brussels of such a risk based on troop transfer data. Moscow denies this information.

US officials told their European counterparts that Russia, by pulling troops to the Ukrainian borders, might decide to invade. This is stated in the material of the Bloomberg agency, released on Thursday, November 11.

Sources of the publication claim that Washington has confirmed information, which is not yet known to Brussels. American officials intend to share it in the near future.

Bloomberg also reports that, according to a source close to the Kremlin, Russia does not intend to start a war with Ukraine yet, but wants to show that it is ready to use force if necessary.

Moscow has already officially commented on the information of the publication. Thus, the first deputy representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, Dmitry Polyansky, told reporters that the Russian Federation "never planned and will not (invade Ukraine - ed.), Unless we are provoked by Ukraine or someone else and this is not a question of protecting our national sovereignty." ...

He also accused Kiev of "many threats emanating from it."

We will remind, earlier international observers, having analyzed the data from the Network, noticed a new transfer of Russian tanks to the Ukrainian border. It was about a battalion of T-80U tanks, which, presumably, were heading to the Pogonovo training ground, located 250 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.

Kuleba admits Russian plans to invade Ukraine

1636711505155.png

TEXT: ALEXANDER IVANITSKY, 12 November 2021

Ukraine must remain vigilant with Russia, noted Kuleba

The Russian leadership "is looking for an opportunity to move further" into Ukrainian territory, the minister said.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba admits the possibility that Russia seeks to "move further" into Ukraine. He said this in an interview with ABC News.

“We don't want to scare anyone, but we must remain vigilant,” he said.

The minister acknowledged that Russian troops and equipment are concentrated on the border with Ukraine, which may indicate that the Russian government is "looking for an opportunity to move further" into Ukrainian territory.

"When you live next to Russia for seven years in an armed conflict, you seem to learn to worry. You get used to it," Kuleba said.

He also spoke about the results of his visit to the United States, during which a new Charter of Strategic Relations was signed.

"The United States is ready not only to speak, but to act, to act to contain Russia and strengthen Ukraine's ability to defend itself," Kuleba said.

According to him, under Donald Trump, there was some turbulence in relations between Ukraine and the United States, but with the arrival of Joe Biden, ties were restored.

At the same time, he noted that disagreements between the countries remain, in particular, over the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline.

It'd be helpful to get some concrete details on the operation of TB2s in Ukraine. Aside from bombing those artillery positions, I've read that they were being used for reconnaissance for many months now. Even read a report that the Russian forces apparently shot a couple down in Crimea, although that was admittedly from a Russian source and no evidence was shown.

Wrong thread, champ.

Although it's kind of funny to me how Tigrayans ended up being the rebellious class when the entire reason they were pushed out of the Ethiopian political scene is because for pretty much most of Ethiopia's existence as a state, Tigrayans were the upper-class running the place and the current war is essentially the lower classes in government fighting against the upper classes among the rebels.

It's like if the English were thrown out of power in the UK and banned from politics, military, etc, which was then taken over by the Scots, Welsh and Irish, and then launched a revolutionary movement to overthrow the new government.
