The US could have invest all that money in their economy, education, infrastructure, bordercontrol etc.

Lets wait which European bigtimer-nation will replace the financial role of the US.

Germany with their economic problems? France with her political problems? The UK with their inventorial problems?

Or tiny little Netherlands with her social problems?

And their Pantzir is so great that they BARELY hit with one rocket (other rocked totaly missed) big civilian plane that was not manouvering, not trying hide, just was flying straight.

There are really not many soldiers taken from big cities Moskwa and St Petersburg. Most are from poor asian regions when you can survive and earn good money or you die and your family will get good money.
Russia is trying to save russians by sending people from other regions, Ukraine are trying to save Ukrainians by sending older recruits that are less likely to have more children.

So true Russia also has a demographic issue especially ethnic Russians. Russians also fear more Non Ethnic Russians living in Russia like the Chechens, Buryats, Yakuts, Tuvans, Tatars, Azerbaijanis and Georgians hence why most are getting conscripted into the meat grinder.
