nuclear weapons or only nuclear propulsion?
IMHO, i doubt US and UK will take the risk to arms Aussie with nuclear (explosion) arms, hence Aussie still recieve first tier weaponery such El-Ra'sam, Tomahawk, stealth fighter & bomber, etc, etc.

What more in my considerations is AUKUS aim is to make F-35 like SSN project. One frame for our partner, simplified the maintenance.

SSN? Aircraft carrier? Gundam?

Better stick with the one from ZAFT, soo much OP.

Actually, i suggest to not get so much hype about SSN coming from nowhere. But, remember "menyalip di tikungan terakhir" are Indonesian motto in Arms contract.

math class

it's 72 actually
🤣🤣🤣 my bad my bad.

I just think PAL IG admin is confused as usual.

As @Anmdt said before. The Vls configuration will be vary.

But i think quadpack CAMM only came with Sylver / Mk 41 VLS

agreed, adding SSN in our inventory would make more headache.

from maintaining, we didn't have much experience handling nuclear stuff and given our track record in maintenance, well...

basing. we must establish a plan if we wanted to operate SSN, where we wanted to base those sub ? if it in surabaya, what the procedure when there's a reactor leak when the sub on port ? -remember surabaya is our second largest city- and if it in palu what happen if there a large earthquake + tsunami like in 2018?
a new base, where? how much investment?

training, we must establish new training procedure

decommissioning, what to do when the sub come to it's end of life, where we wanted to store the radioactive waste?, how we going to dismantle the submarine?

etc
etc

All your concerns are valid. Unfortunately all of these are part of the learning process we have to take IF we're serious about this (big IF). So it's really crucial that we position ourselves as their most strategic partner IF we want to pursue this, as they'll be the one who teach and guide us through the process.

Anyway AUS kinda open a can of worms here. It's only a matter of time before other countries asking about buying SSN themselves. It's rather sooner than later before we see countries like Vietnam knocking on the door for it.

Geo-politic wise, the opportunity kinda presents itself for us now. Even the US won't be too critical about it. If not us then other countries will definitely take it.

PKR?

Since our navy doesn't really follow the 'classical' naming convention, the "PKR" designation can mean anything from corvette, frigate, destroyer, and probably up to cruiser class as long as they're armed with missiles.

That... that actually makes sense.
Ladies and gentlemen you have heard about PKR 10514 and now please welcome Indonesian newest ship PKR 14020 and PKR13320.

KCR 60 -> PKR 608

Bruh

Screw with the Cruiser, Destroyer, Frigate, Corvette classification, it is PKR all the way.
PKBR

Everything is PKR here, so no biggies much more or less the same with JMSDF naming convention.

Will Australian new submarine have nuclear weapons or only nuclear propulsion?
Our MoFA reacted quite strongly, it is understandable because it will be right in our backyard but did our MoFA also made some noises when Brazil want to get nuclear submarine back then?
Attack subs, nuclear powered only.

Or so they said.

Come to think of it, in comparison to the "15-to-5 transformation" program from the Malaysian Navy where they're planning to reduce the number of vessel classes from 15 to just 5 in their service, we can 'one-upped' them by doing just that.

60 m patrol boat armed with missiles? PKR.
90-150 m ships with missiles? PKR.
LPD, LHA with missiles? PKR plus.

And if one day we decide to build our own aircraft carriers, guess what?

PKR plus plus.
