China fires a nuclear hypersonic missile around the world and surprises the US

Inside sources have reported that China has a new “hard-to-defend” hypersonic missile that can orbit the earth in low orbit before heading towards its target

China has been testing a new space-capable hypersonic missile that can orbit the earth in low orbit before racing towards its target, sources said.

In a terrifying demonstration of the country’s advanced weapons capabilities, Beijing reportedly launched a nuclear-capable missile in August which, according to the Financial Times, “demonstrated an advanced space capability that surprised US intelligence.”

Three inside sources reportedly told the news agency that the missile missed its target by more than 20 miles.

However, two said the “test showed that China had made astounding advances in hypersonic weapons and was far more advanced than US officials realized.”

The sources claimed the hypersonic glider was carried by a Long March missile and was kept secret in August.

Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said he would not comment on the details of the report.

He said: “We have made clear our concern about the military capabilities that China continues to pursue, capabilities that only increase tensions in the region and beyond.

“That’s one of the reasons we see China as our greatest challenge in pace.”

China, Russia, the United States and at least five other countries are working on hypersonic technology.

Hypersonic missiles, similar to conventional ballistic missiles, can travel at more than five times the speed of sound.

However, hypersonic missiles can fly in a low atmosphere orbit, while a ballistic missile flies in a slower high arc in space to reach its target.

Also, a hypersonic missile can be maneuvered, making it much more difficult to track and repel.

The US and other countries have developed high-tech systems capable of defending ballistic and cruise missiles, but the ability to track a launched hypersonic missile remains in the air.

According to a study by the US Congressional Research Service (CRS), China has eagerly developed the technology and sees it as crucial to defend itself against US developments in hypersonic.

The news comes that tensions continue to mount in World War III after China threatened Taiwan with “the end of the world” and allegedly has soldiers on “high alert”.

A week after China vowed to “fight to the blood” to take control of Taiwan, its state-run newspaper added that Beijing’s military was “ready to fight anytime”.

China’s attempt to “unite” with Taiwan could spark a third world war if the West unites to defend the island 180 kilometers off the Chinese coast.

Taiwan broke away from the communist state in 1949 in order to make itself independent, but now faces an apparently determined President Xi Jinping, who sees the recapture of the island as a great political victory.

U.S. mayors urge Washington to give nod to U.N. nuke ban treaty

A hugely influential group of mayors in the United States unanimously adopted a resolution calling on Washington to embrace the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) as a step toward finally ridding the world of nuclear weapons.

The call was made by the United States Conference of Mayors in reference to the treaty that took effect in January with the aim of working toward the complete elimination of nuclear arsenals.

The nonpartisan body, which represents more than 1,400 cities with populations of 30,000 or more, is part of the “Big Seven,” a group of organizations that represent local and state governments in the United States.

The U.N. treaty bans the development, retention and use of nuclear weapons. It has been ratified by 56 countries and territories. But the nuclear powers, the United States included, have not ratified the treaty. Nor has Japan, which relies on the U.S. “nuclear umbrella” for it ultimate defense.

The resolution urged the U.S. government “to consider reversing its opposition to the TPNW and to welcome the treaty as a positive step toward negotiation of a comprehensive agreement on the achievement and permanent maintenance of a world free of nuclear weapons.”

The resolution was adopted at the conference’s annual convention held at the end of August. It is not the first time for the conference to adopt a resolution with the same broad aims. In fact, it has done so since 2004.

While the resolution has no legal binding power, it sends a clear message to the U.S. government and the people of America.
Frank Cownie, the mayor of Des Moines in Iowa, proposed the resolution with seven others.

According to Cownie, two mayors initially expressed opposition to the treaty during a committee debate on international issues.

But after making a minor amendment, the resolution was unanimously adopted at a board meeting attended by more than 20 mayors that was held during the annual convention.

“Most American people are unaware of the TPNW, and this resolution we hope can help inform them,” Cownie told The Asahi Shimbun during an online interview. “I don't think that they understand the threat of nuclear weapons.”

The mayors and their supporters will now work to convince local congressmen and senators of their justness of their cause, Cownie said.

“Hibakusha have always played and served as humanity's moral compass regarding the absolute evil of nuclear weapons,” Cownie said as he urged the Japanese government to listen to “those voices in the second and third generations” and support them.

Yuki Miyamoto, a professor at DePaul University in Chicago whose work centers on nuclear discourse and environmental ethics, called the resolution significant, saying it illustrates increased awareness of the nuclear weapons issue among mayors.

Miyamoto noted that numerous grass-roots movements have forced policy changes that brought about reform in the United States.
Des Moines is one of more than 8,000 cities that consist of Mayors of Peace, an NGO that aims to abolish nuclear weapons. The organization is headed by Hiroshima Mayor Kazumi Matsui.

I don't know about US one, 6 inches? link please provided, cause you don't have a good track record in telling the truth.
But If true, congrats, but for nuclear strikes, it doesn't have to be inches.

Videos can't show how accurate they are, and I have no doubt that militarily US is still leading other nations so far, but in 10-20 years, it won't be as much.
Look till the end, it shows the glide body hitting the object right where the camera is pointed at.

And it's from so called "inside sources", which repeatedly have proved as total bullshit.
The US is honest enough to report any of their test failures am sure they're not bullshitting their success.

OTOH it's kinda weird why we never heard about China's missile test failures.

You really should read news more, China just reported a failed rocket launch last week.

The C-HGB is a universal launch system. Could be launched from the air, submarine and trucks.

A scenario where US submarines patrolling the second and third island chain could devastate PLAN fleet still inside the first island chain.

Not to mention it's very compact compared to that of China's.

A single LRHW (6000+ km) launcher could carry as much as two missile, for comparison the DF-17 (1800-2500km) requires a specialized TEL launcher for a single missile.

A lost satelite, for military test, China always keep those tests under the wraps, so do many other countries. I m sure US also has secret weapon tests
No I mean hypersonic test, why haven't we heard any failures? Did China test its missile less rigorous than the US ?

China never intends to nulcear attack any country, she develops this capability to deter other countries from going nuclear against China.

This is funny because if it missed by 24 miles then it would be useless in conventional warfare.

So it's either a nuclear weapon, which is not that revolutionary because ICBM are already here for decades now to do the job or China failed to hit its intended target by a wide margin.

hyper missiles, anti satelite weapons, laser weapons...even stealthy bombers are secret programs in China, US has a tendency of bragging their military might, but not every country is like US.
