No, not really. Syria is still a priority for Russia. Now that Turkey has closed the straits, Tartus' strategic and military value has even increased. My guess is that Russia would rather vacate Karabakh than Syria. Why risk war with Russia now when a weakened and exhausted Russian politicial apparatus will most certainly succumb to many Turkish demands later on? Time is on our side for once. The government is doing the right thing by waiting for the precise moment.

If Russians claim that the sun is shining brightly it most probably is 3am in the night. Everything they say is the opposite of the truth.
After another month you will probably hear Russians claim how East Ukraine wasn't part of their plans too but they only looked to secure the Donbabwe, Luganda and Crimea etc.
The more the war drags on the bigger will Ukraine's will to fight get. They are getting more and more weaponry and supplies every day, more and more troops and foreign volunteers every day. At the same time every day in this swamp makes Russia go deeper and deeper in the shit... The best of all is that when Russians started all this they probably didn't even imagine that this will ever happen.

Now, of course, the the real battle starts. Does Ukraine have enough in reserve and enough logistical prowess and are their supply lines from NATO strong enough, to thwart what will be a strong, face saving push to capture territory in the Donbas?
This will be Ukraine's largest test. Russia is mobilizing 10 new battalions to enter this conflict on the Eastern front. Can Ukraine reposition enough forces / armor from places like Lviv, Odessa, Mikolaiv, Zhytomyr, Kharkiv and Dnipro, to hold strong against the Russian offensive in the East.
Any captured armor needs to get there, ASAP. Any western supplies need to get there, ASAP. Territorial defense forces need to be repositioned down there ASAP, highly valuable foreign fighters need to be positioned down there, ASAP. As many drones as is possible need to be positioned down there ASAP. And above else, this is the West / EU / NATO's chance to make a game changing supply push, to make a push into the Donbas absolutely miserable for the Russians.

As a person born in Bulgaria you should know that Russians and Bulgarians after saying sun is shining at 3 am will really strongly believe it after while. It is called psychosis.
