As a person born in Bulgaria you should know that Russians and Bulgarians after saying sun is shining at 3 am will really strongly believe it after while. It is called psychosis. Believe me even in November I knew that they will attack Ukraine, a few statements and knowing the nature, habits, mentality of this kind assured me about that.

Bulgaria was the closest bootlicker of the USSR for decades and the country is still full with many Putin worshippers and Russophiles... For decades Russians have been presented as Brothers, saviors and the biggest helpers of Bulgaria in everything from economy to military. For people who don't read much or are not interested in politics it is quite easy to fall for this trap yet Bulgarians are nowhere near as brainwashed and out of touch with reality as Russians are.
In Bulgaria you also have many people who don't like Russia at all and realize what a threat to us and the world Russians are. Many people openly support Ukraine nowadays too- I personally know many of them. With this invasion their number will get even bigger for sure.
