At the International Defence Exhibition and Conference IDEX (IDEX 23) that took place in Abu Dhabi (UAE) last February, the Abu Dhabi Autonomous Systems Investments company (ADASI), a member of the EDGE group, unveiled a mock-up of its Jeniah Unmanned Combat Aerial System (UCAS).

ADASI's Jeniah is designed to guarantee covert characteristics, with the possibility of working individually or in different formations to perform different tasks, such as attack, exploration, and ground support deep within enemy defenses (Picture source: Army Recognition)

The Jeniah project is the result of three years of research and development efforts. In a few years, it has become clear that the interest of the company in unmanned air systems and precision units has been high and recently won many export contracts. There are rumors that the company has benefited from the experience of many South African engineers after the collapse of their companies, scramble.nl writes.

The Jeniah is designed to guarantee covert characteristics, with the possibility of working individually or in different formations to perform different tasks, such as attack, exploration, and ground support deep within enemy defenses. According to ADASI echoed by Scramble, the aim of the project emphasizes the rapid changes on the future battlefield and the need for anti-access/area denial (or A2/AD) systems to control access to and within an operational environment.

The company states that the UAV will have artificial intelligence for decision-making, but it does not specify whether the AI is for navigation or assault missions, or both

@Philip the Arab bro, i am not expert on aerodynamic, but even in the video doesn't it looks like its wings are uncomfortably small?

I saw that too, but check that brochure I added it claims wingspan will be 10.5 meters for the smaller version and 11.8 meters for the next version which means that the mock-up isn’t how it will actually look.

The wingspan of the Kızılelma is 10 meters for reference.

It’s likely they are just starting and put together a mock-up in the time they had and it will change significantly when more work is done. They have a lot of engineers from Embraer/Denel involved in the program.

On the day the first pictures of TF-X dropped during the ground test, you post about this useless plastic model that will never fly. this fat f*** is stated to have a payload of 500kg. Completely useless plastic model.

Now one congratulatory comment from you on the TF-X thread. Instead you spam the forum with useless plastic models.
I did congratulate in the thread, can you check again? This has nothing to do with TF-X man, just calm down.

500kg payload is all that is needed and is more than American drones like the MQ-28/XQ-58. The F-117 had two hard points but was insanely effective at its role.

The Kızılelma has 1500kg payload with its external payload added as well btw which ruins the radar signature quite a bit.

I’ve made a thread on defence pk and others have made threads on arab defense forums so I made one in the free time that I have.

The UAE is trying to make a breakthrough for their industrial capacity that should be appreciated. Strong financial instruments are providing important advantages to move some processes forward faster. The government also seems to have a strong will here.

I wish the best for Turks and the whole region, there is no need to be hostile anymore.

Europe and the West shouldn’t have a monopoly and the ability to cut off countries from weapons just because they disagree with their politics.

Btw, as far as I know, Janiah is a name used in many Arab countries, and it sounds very nice. And as far as google tells me it means 'A Gift From God'. What I'm wondering is whether this name choice has a story, a reference to some esoteric or historical phenomenon?

That’s completely wrong, Jeniah is a female version of Jinn which is named for obvious reasons related to the planned stealth features of the aircraft.

Basically a female ghost, which is a bit of an odd name for an aircraft. Someone asked a question about it on Reddit as well.

500 kg payload is low unfortunately, but I could see it be used in the same way the F-117 was used. SEAD and hitting HVTs in contested air space.

Come in at night while avoiding radars with its low RCS, and drop a pair of laser guided MK82s on an air defense sites thus opening up a corridor for manned fighter jets to operate and then returning to base.

With the budget the Emirates has, it could field a fleet of 150 of these before 2035 in my opinion if the project is successful.

Agreed, its getting boring that countries have to choose only U.S, Russian, European and Chinese fighter.

Looks ugly but when it comes to warfare it does not matter.

It needs to be sleek and sexy.
It’s a bit ugly, but it may be revised in the future imo.

Look at the bigger picture, these will sell like hotcakes to other Arab air forces in my opinion. UAE could even subsidize the purchases to fund their own industry.

The modular ground controller station(GCS) will be able to control the Reach-S and Shadow loitering munitions as well

in this first pic in the bottom left of the screen you can see it says RCH, S25, and S50 which all represent different drones it can control including the Reach-S UCAV, Shadow 25, and Shadow 50 loitering munitions.
