On the flagship of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Hetman Sagaidachny frigate is modernizing the MR-750 surface target detection radar "Frigate-MA".
This was stated by the director of the State Enterprise "Research Institute of Radar Systems" Quantum Radar "Eduard Kasapov. Transmitted by the National Industrial Portal with reference to UMP .
The Kvant-Radar Research Institute of Radar Systems is a co-executor in the repair and modernization of the main ship of the national fleet.
The director of the state enterprise didn't specify terms of implementation of the agreement with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on restoration and modernization of a product.
The three-coordinate radar station MR-750 "Frigate-MA" is installed on ships of medium and large tonnage.

The purpose of the radar station is to detect air and surface targets, to issue targets to fire means in the conditions of intensive work of the enemy's electronic warfare means.
The stated target detection range is about 300 km.
In addition to the frigate "Hetman Sagaidachny", this radar is installed on the unfinished ship of the project 1164 "Atlant", which despite applications for signing an order on demilitarization and use of its components on the existing navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and is maintained by SE "Nikolaev Shipyard".

The missile cruiser project 1164 code "Atlant" was launched on August 11, 1990. It was laid out as a missile cruiser "Komsomolets", on March 23, 1985 it was renamed "Admiral of the Fleet Lobov", since 1998 - "Ukraine". From June 2011 without a name.
In fact, work on the construction of this ship was stopped in the 90s. After that, there were repeated statements about its completion, creation of a museum or the sale of Russia as an exploiting country of the same type of cruisers. However, the most rational option is to use the installed equipment on it, on other ships and ships of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In addition to the above-mentioned radar MR-750 "Frigate-MA", the ship is equipped with a sonar station MG-335 "Platinum", which is also used on the flagship of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, radar fire control stations MR-123 "Pennant", designed to control artillery fire installations of caliber 30, 57, 76 and 100 mm, and are also placed on the flagship and the boat "Pryluky".
Also a number of weapons systems - jet bombers RBU-6000, SAM "Osa-MA", anti-aircraft artillery AK-630M.
