Special Astros Rocket Transport Vehicle Created by the Nation's Children
A special vehicle carrying Astros Rocket ammunition was displayed at the TNI Alutsista Defile on the occasion of the TNI's 78th Anniversary at Silang Monas, Central Jakarta, Thursday (5/10/2023) yesterday. This vehicle is the work of the nation's children as a result of defense research and development (R&D) at the Army Equipment Center (Puspalad).
According to the Dirbinlitbang Puspalad Colonel Cpl Teguh Gunandi in his official statement, Saturday, (7/10) said that apart from being a vehicle for transporting rocket ammunition, the Astros can also be used as a mobile and independent field munitions warehouse because it is equipped with a powerpack, it can be docked with maneuver troops in front when operations and training.
"The advantage of the vehicle is that it can overcome the difficulties of field artillery troops in training and combat activities. "This defense equipment is supported by the capability of a 6 x 6 wheel drive system which can make it easier for the vehicle when passing through tactical terrain and when maneuvering," said Teguh.
This vehicle carries a 7800 CC capacity engine with a vehicle length of 11.5 meters, width of 2.6 meters and height of 3.8 meters. This vehicle is capable of loading 8 Astros Rocket ammunition containers and is equipped with a crane.
"This vehicle can operate for 10 minutes and is equipped with outriggers that can adjust to off-road conditions. "Apart from that, this vehicle can also be multifunctional as a field ammunition store for Small Caliber Munitions (MKK) and Large Caliber Munitions (MKB)," explained Teguh. (rr)

Dunno man, is it have automated reload mechanism ?
Newer version of K9 have much more automatic reload mechanism. Other than that Army M109 only in small number. Bought large number of new system will also unlock for localized production.
since the gun use rheinmetall 155 l/52, it's probably SAL (Semi Automatic Loader) breech system just like our current M109A4BE and Caesar.
