Pakistani President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan met with visiting Chinese State Councilor and Defense Minister Wei Fenghe in Islamabad on Tuesday.
Noting that Pakistan and China are dear brothers and partners with a long friendship, Alvi said Pakistan will continue to support China on issues related to the South China Sea, Taiwan, Xinjiang, and Tibet, and his country hopes to work with China to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the construction of Pakistan-China Economic Corridor, and sectors including defense and security.
China's success in fighting against the pandemic is unparalleled and its efforts in poverty alleviation are unprecedented in human history, said the prime minister. He said the two countries should carry out more comprehensive and closer strategic cooperation so as to lift the "Iron Brothers" ties to a new height.

For his part, Wei said the China-Pakistan all-weather strategic cooperative partnership is unique in the world.

Under the leaderships of the two countries, said Wei, both sides have strengthened cooperation in various aspects and firmly supported each other on issues involving their core interests.

China is willing to improve strategic communication, strengthen mutual strategic trust and enhance strategic coordination with Pakistan in order to lift the relationship between the two militaries to a higher level.

China, in the meantime, is keen to jointly cope with risks and challenges with Pakistan, firmly safeguard the sovereignty and security interests of both countries and maintain regional peace and stability, Wei said.

During his visit, Wei also met with Pakistan's Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Nadeem Raza and Chief of Army Staff Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa, exchanging opinions on international and regional situation, bilateral state and military relations and cooperation in defense equipment and technology.

Pakistan rely heavily on China for both military and economy. Understandable. Just let them speak to improve relation with their backer, but they will not give any military support to China in case Indo and China have some military conflict. They will stay neutral on such conflict scenario. I am confident about that.

I am not so sure with your confidence. Considering Pakistan track record, i am much more at ease to give them benefit of doubt a very large ones and watch their diplomatic and militarily activity more closely.

Somehow my mind read the title as "Pakistan support China to attack Indonesia".

Well, maybe not too far off either.

Track record of what exactly? This news isn’t unexpected, and it’s been the stance from the very beginning.

You know Pakistan Will always do for the highest bidder, last time you are giving face slapping toward Malaysia and Turkey after they giving full support over Jammu and Kashmir issue and falling diplomatically against India. That's just because Riyadh doesn't permit Islamabad to attend summit in Kuala lumpur.

I still remember how tens thousands Malaysian palm oil farmer protest Malaysian government decision over this issue.

That's hillarious. And now you are over Chinese heel. And Made other Friendly countries in ASEAN, Australia, Japan and US completely uncomfortable.

“Highest bidder”, oh dear.
Yes the government U turn was embarrassing, however ties with the ME go back a decades. In hindsight Malaysia has new power brokers, so going ahead with the summit would have given only temporary gain.
The only hilarious thing is your poor understanding of reality. Japan, AUS are not ‘uncomfortable’ with Pakistan. Also in their uncomfortable state they still managed to sign RCEP, with the chief protagonist in your eyes.

Whatever, our Ministry of Defense had starting to build comprehensive Contingency plan in case diplomatic solution would not work against China over South China Sea issue and prepared the military readiness at high level since three years ago. If Pakistan still stay behind China and support them diplomatically and militarily over this issue when the time came there is much game to be done between Indonesia and Pakistan surely

Come on, its just a statement, it will not effect anything, particularly because China nine dash line doesnt have any basis at all as it is UNCLOS that is accepted world wide. I believe there will be no negative respond from Indonesia government toward Pakistan, they know it is difficult for Pakistan to go against China position.

But Indonesia still signed RCEP. You should forward your concerns to your government.
As for Pakistan, they said nothing when you stepped in to increase palm oil exports to India, when India hit back over the then Malaysian president’s support for Pakistan’s Kashmir stance. Your country has looked out for itself, no one moaned.

You then write about this game that Indonesia will play, you’re an amateur here. First the two countries are no where near each other, or is it a social distancing game due to Covid? The two have exceptional ties with one another.

The only game you will be playing is by yourself, no not Indonesia, but you as an individual. That won’t be much fun.

RCEP is ASEAN lead initiative @Waz and it is started when Indonesia was ASEAN chairman and Indonesia is also a lead negotiator for ASEAN in the negotiation.

This is what makes ASEAN is interested with RCEP. Any way ASEAN and China has already had effective FTA since 2012.

Background of RCEP.
RCEP doesn't stem from ASEAN members, but East Asian countries. In final form yes, it is ASEAN centric FTA. A final form of collection of what offered earlier, adjusted for best gains of ASEAN.
Everyone wins, but ASEAN does more with access to Chinese led BRI.

I believe Pakistan is making that statement because it's just a statement. Pakistan isn't going to war against another muslim nation anytime soon. Especially not since you don't even have border or territorial disputes.

Since Indonesia doesn't have any claim in the south sea where China lays it's claim (except keep and protect Natuna island + 200 miles). This is like a free to make statement without any cost.

I think it's important to realize how much Pakistan a nuclear power is relying on China. Only way to break that is if Pakistan could turn their economy from minus to plus.

I am still hoping Turkey can do something to alleviate Pakistan's defence reliance on China. Those Atak helicopters would be nice (TS1400 waiting for ceremonial handing over in december 2020), but to combat terrorists I think TB2 would be good too, or even Karayel (we just found out recently Vestel Karayel had built/export 40 to KSA).
