And it is working. Because our government doesn’t have proper diplomatic skills. Russia or China would have strategically put Greece under never ending war threat. Pushing the country to implosion.

If it had been me. I would have used the agean card. Documented militarization in violation to treaties. Declared that those islands are hereby turkish and demand Greece leaves. Declare hostile invasion reference to 1919. Declare the 150+ islands as being turkish because they are on our side of continental shelf. EEZ 200 mile, and any Greek island within our 200 EEZ has only 3 nm according to lausanne.

Force Greece to arm the islands even more. Goto UN, EU with further proof of militarization. Push it.

Keep them under pressure, rupture their economy.

Greece can’t protect anything alone on our side of the aegean sea. So we can in theory enforce our laws.

That is why aegean should have been divided fairly in the past.

I wouldn’t do such risky moves. But I’d establish workgroups. You can’t trust China or Russia beyond they want to cause discord in Europe. Turkey is unfortunately an easy target and we risk standing alone. The Arabs would be more willing to be true ally of Russia that Turkey.
