Israel develops scramjet engines and hypersonic missiles

The Israeli Technion Institute of Technology announced that they have developed a scramjet engine.

We need to join this band wagon soon. There is no credible defence against hypersonic weapons. They are just too fast to intercept in time. According to reports on Russian zircon missile, as it travels through dense air at 8 Mach speed it ionises the air surrounding it, making it impossible for radars to see it as radar waves are absorbed by the ionised air.
If true it is a formidable weapon. One could say almost as good as a nuclear deterrent!

But Is there a “credible” instance where this is used to do what you say it can do?
Only time microwaves were supposedly used was against the Indian army by the Chinese. Their weapon was a millimetre microwave weapon which worked like a commercial microwave to give a burning sensation to the victim.
As it stands all is experimental and theoretical. And most are aimed at conventional weapons electronics. (Like Bofors HPM of BAE Systems) .
But this technology has potential. An Aesa radar with strong enough power source can do a similar job of a directed energy pulse. We don’t know what Koral System of Turkey is doing. But there are rumours that it is disrupting/damaging aircraft electronics.
Even US is worried about the hypersonic missiles, and openly admitted they have nothing in hand to respond to them.

Sir, don't believe fake news of china using microwave weapons near LAC,that was claimed by chinese communist party official/experts,tommorow they will claim that they created earthquakes to stop Indian army advance.

It is known that China has placed high-powered microwave weapon on its warships. And they are working to put it on satellites. (page 14)

There is no such concrete weapon in use to stop these missiles as of now. But a lot is being developed. And those the Chinese claim they have.

The dailymail itself quotes the claim made by chinese professor.

Anyways yes hypersonic missles are a tough thing to counter and the situation would remain in the near future as well.
Currently only US,Russia,China,India possess this capability i guess.
