Its a gateway to Central Asia and South Asia. Afghanistan also has lots of Turkic peoples living there not to mention the resources.
Its hard for Turkey to ignore when countries like Russia, China, Iran and India trying to go in. It is also Pakistans backyard. It will form a great link to Pakistan since we are getting close to them.
Not to mention a refugee crisis is brewing which means they might come to Turkiye. Turkey and Pakistan cant handle another refugee wave.
