The only good thing Erdogan did for the democratic process in Turkey was to create the presidential system. That system is the only time in Turkey's history in which politicians can be held to account. I hope that if CHP does come to power, they don't do something stupid like end the presidential system.
The Turkish presidential system is the worst thing that has happened to Turkiye. Turkiye is on a downward slope since switching to the presidential system. The presidential system transformed the HDP/DEM into kingmakers, granting them unprecedented leverage over Turkish politics. We should find and hang the person who put the idea of a presidential system into Erdogan's head.

That was always going to happen, I'm afraid, since the parliamentary the system sucked was well and wasn't implemented currently.

The presentational system needs reform, so there are checks and balances on the president's power.

The presidential system transformed the HDP/DEM into kingmakers, granting them unprecedented leverage over Turkish politics.
How did the switch to a Presidential system make the HDP/DEM kingmakers?

It doesn't matter; getting rid of Erdogan has utmost importance. After a few years, new elections can be held to decide who will govern.
Erdoğan wiped out all political parties with his newly founded party in 2002 and came to power. I cannot see a leader in today's Turkey who can defeat Erdoğan. There is a need for a party that will enter the elections from scratch like in the 2002 elections, but there is no leader in Türkiye who can do this.

I think these fuckers all work together hand in hand behind closed doors. Controlled opposition or whatever its called.

There’s no need for something like ‘controlled opposition’; being in the opposition is the world’s easiest job. Whatever the government does, just say the opposite and move on. Now and then, make a flashy statement or two, then start looking for a weekend getaway.

In the last election they (opposition) had one shot, but they decided to shoot themselves. Like come on, KK, really...

Muharrem İnce announced that he has returned to the CHP.

Would they make him the head of the party? I highly doubt it.
He didn't perform well in elections. He reprents an important group within chp but he is not cut out for leadership. His joining is a symbol for a returning voice of more traditional chp and unity among different segments of chp

A trustee is expected to be appointed as the president of CHP if no last-minute arrangements are made. As I said before, we are in a de facto dictatorship.

You seriously believe that Erdogan will be kicked out when you have an opposition headed by the likes of Ozgur Ozel and his cronies?

I still remember when Fatih Altayli, who many CHP members adore, used to say that KAAN will never be able to take off as it is nothing more than a propaganda machine
I even remember when CHP MPs visited TOGG factory and stated that there is no need for a national vehicle as Turkey already produces foreign cars etc...

For Erdogan to be kicked out of office, the CHP needs to be erased from this earth and a new CLEAN party should lead the opposition

Till this day I wonder why on earth didnt they elect Mansur Yavas as the Opposition's presidential candidate? Yavas has better reputation, more popularity, and is liked by people both on the right and left of the political spectrum compared to a third-rate clown like Imamoglu.

If Yavas formed his own party, then the president from 2028 onwards will be Mansur Yavas

The shortcomings of CHP are not important right now. Getting rid of Erdogan is at the top of the priority list. Those issues are problems of tomorrow, and it will be so easy to fix them when the time comes. Because CHP doesn't have the same hold on the state apparatus as AKP does. Turkiye is on its road to a single-party state and a de facto dictatorship, and Erdogan has travelled 80% of that road.

After a lost battle, Napoleon asked one of his generals why the battle was lost. General answered There are 5 reasons, Your Majesty. The first one is that we run out of gunpowder. Napoleon said That's enough, you don't need to tell the rest. It is the same for Türkiye; we have a huge Erdogan problem, and everything looks unimpressive compared to that colossal issue. Everything is secondary until that problem is fixed because it is a problem that blocks the fixing of other problems.

I think by that logic CHP is an empty storage of gun powder. Everyone was always so fixated at the incumbent, no one bothered to fix their act. Now CHP is fixing itself a little and gaining traction and they are trying to stop that and sabotage it and revert it to the docile useless silent party that it was. Meanwhile decades passed. If they got their act together and tried to change old tactics that are provent not to work and just trying to protect short term interest of small insider groups, imagine how history would have played out.

That's sort of like having crippling anxiety. You are so fixated on something you are like I cant eat rn I cant brush my teeth rn when I have exam tomorrow etc but in an institutional level. Whereas healthy people need to be able to take time to focus on themselves regardless.

for the most part i think we hit a point in Turkiye where the political spectrum is no more then theatre. If the Turkish army had been taken over, the western financed and backed islamist classes of Turkiye would have never done their US/EU backed bidding to remove the armies protection of the state. Since it would have been easier to undermine the state centrally from the military. But alas it seemed like the patriots were too strong within that institution. So the anglo-american zionist axis had their power removed and false cases brought up to put them in jail.

My concern about AK party is that they may be making deals with the Americans telling them you don't need to attack or destroy Turkiye, we will create Kurdistan within Turkish land peacefully. It would explain how in two decades all the islamists have done when it came to the PKK was open their arses towards them. Even though every fool can see the kurdistan project is a zionist project.

It would also explain why Turkiye became the worlds global dumbing ground for migrants under the islamists, when everyones in the west knows that mass migrations is also a zionist project. I sometimes think the reason erdogan talks so much shit against Isreal, is because off camera they know its all theatre to fool the masses.

The British Prince of Jordon does the same, he even goes to the UN and condemns Isreal. But he is 100% a zionist shill.

When you have cancer, you don't think about your sprained ankle.

178 TAF officers arrested in recent FETO operations. The list includes 11 colonels, 10 UAV pilots ranked captain and major, and the adjutant officer of the defense minister. You can listen to the details in the video. Corruption is rampant in the state apparatus, and the situation is also deteriorating in the armed forces day by day. You may choose not to see this because your favorite political party is at the helm, and you want it to stay that way, but the consequences are too big to ignore. The rot is too deep, and cleaning it while Erdogan is at the helm is impossible. FETO is just an example; there is a truckload of issues. I gave this example because AKP is supposed to fight against FETO.

It's not a sprained ankle. The opposition parties are just as core to the problem. Imagine if they take over finally after years and then fail to govern in an epic fail and we get 100 more years of this on the following election. CHP needs to fix itself rapidly, cut the gangrenous dinosaurs and get new blood. Need to get rid of kilicdaroglu cultists

This sounds too similar to what some people in Azerbaijan say about Aliyev’s grip on power. I’ve come around to the idea that the mere process of change in government can kickstart an automatic process of house cleaning that is not possible when the same people are running the show for 20+ years.

CHP may suck in their own way but present multiple routes to fixing things that are not available with AKP.

So a magazine drew a comic of Muhammad and now Islamists are threatening civil war, some have threatened to spill the blood of all Kemalists.

Yes that magazine did something provocative, but we can't deny that these types of extremists are a parallel threat along with Kurdish separatists.

These are all sponsored by our enemies and the worst part is the government is supporting and benefiting off both sides.

This internal situation needs to be fixed as soon as possible.
