Ukraine has received it's 8th IRIS-T SLM Air Defense System from Germany

and the second of 2025. In total, Ukraine is scheduled to receive 4 of the SLM variant in 2025, with two additional deliveries scheduled for the fall. In total, Ukraine is set to receive 13 SLM variant IRIS-T systems, and a similar number of short range SLS variants.
IRIS-T is ideal for shooting down Russian drones and cruise missiles. It is not designed for the interception of balistic missiles. It reportedly boasts a 90+% hit rate during its action in Ukraine.
Similar to NASAMS in mission set, IRIS-T is an integral part of Ukraine's layered air defense system. Deliveries of the systems are expected to continue throughout 2026, with 4 additional systems scheduled for delivery next year.
Ukraine has received the 8th IRIS-T SLM medium-range air defense system from Germany. This is the second system of this type to be delivered in 2025.
