All these conspiracy theories about secret kill switches and software backdoors 🙄 all these „morons“ paying billions 💵💵💵 for US weapon systems … btw, Türkiye wants to buy 40 F-16Vs and 950+ AMRAAMs, please. The MQ-9 switched off its IFF and operated „black“ without informing allied navy ships...

Congratulations Türkiye 🇹🇷! A very bad day for all the haters mocking MMU Kaan as a fantasy, it‘s reality now. Waiting for an official clip …

ESSI is practically a business platform to sell anti-air systems to (Eastern) European countries. Predominantly IRIS-T SLM and Patriot missiles, system parts which are jointly produced in Germany by Comlog (MBDA & Raytheon). https://www.nato.int/cps/en/natohq/news_221626.htm That‘s a reason why...

I think all relevant navies have experimented with supercavitating torpedo technology or are still doing it with no major news. Korean „supercavitating underwater test vehicle“ on ADD stand at MADEX 2017...

TR Altay Main Battle Tank & Related Programs

Yes, it would be nice to know the grade of damage after the initial hits. Leo 2 especially in its latest iteration 2A8 is a damned good MBT and a fine piece of German engineering. Not well suited for Korean terrain and tank doctrine. Heavy armor and weight up to 70t is optimal for European...

TR Altay Main Battle Tank & Related Programs

That might be true. The damage in the pic is severe. Afaik they were hit by Kornets/Iranian copies which are devastating ATGM before air bombing. @Bogeyman thinks it‘s from front hull ammo explosion as he posted above. Never seen such total destruction of Leo 2A4s with blown off turrets in Ukraine.

Some German Leo fans („Sse best tank in sse wwörld, mein Lieber!“) say those pics were taken after Turkish F-16 bombed them to hinder capture. I don‘t know for sure. Maybe it‘s their way of coping 😅

They apparently changed the hull storage in Altay T2 (according to WarThunder Forum, so no guarantee of credibility 😉) For 12 ammo rounds they installed 2 isolated storage compartments with 6 rounds left and right from driver. Blow out panels seen here...

What the heck is going on in Qatar?! 🤓 The data in the map is outdated. Average IQ by country 2023/2024: Türkiye 86.8, Saudi Arabia 76.36, Iran 80.01 Qatar 80.78 Israel 92.43 Interesting fact: Ashkenazi Jews from North/Middle/Eastern Europe have the highest average IQ in the world with 110...

TR HÜRJET-Advanced Jet Trainer/ Light attack aircraft

Digital twins, automation and virtual prototype tests can cut engineering time significantly. But AI and digitalization can‘t replace real flight tests. 6 KF-21 prototypes have a scheduled 2,000 flight hours until 2026. And Boramae was engineered with latest programs and connected digital...

TR HÜRJET-Advanced Jet Trainer/ Light attack aircraft

LRIP in 2025 for Hürjet is very ambitious. Comparable T-50 development from 2002: 2 static test ground units (20 months structural static/fatigue testing) 2 T-50 prototypes (trainer version 001, 002) 2 A-50 prototypes (LIFT version 003, 004) - CDR passed in August 2000 - Assembly start...

Isn‘t Leo 2A4 the most potent MBT of Turkish Land Forces? If I remember correctly the modernization is ongoing and you have several 100s of them.

Cool, thanks for the info, didn‘t know that. M60T with a 120 mm doesn‘t sound too bad as a gap filler. Mass introduction of Altay is most urgent.

TR Altay Main Battle Tank & Related Programs

Yes, I meant the rest of the M60 versions in TSK inventory which were not upgraded through Sabra program (didn‘t know the model designations). Sabra Mk I versions still uses the 105 mm afaik.

TR Altay Main Battle Tank & Related Programs

It‘s a diffcult case. The L/44 is a somewhat outdated 120 mm and no export market to finance a new developed version. 120 mm L/55 will be replaced in future with 130 or even 140 mm cannons coupled with autoloaders. Dunno if it‘s feasible for Türkiye to invest now in a L/44 without any future...

TR Altay Main Battle Tank & Related Programs

Afaik the Leonardo 120 mm L/44 is also a Rheinmetall licensed gun (them Germans again 😁). As I posted above the few producers besides Germany with independent L/44 versions are US, Israel and Japan (Type 10 tank).

TR Altay Main Battle Tank & Related Programs

Then why aren‘t they using it for the M60A3 upgrade? I think this license is restricted to Sabra Mk II upgrade and in the end the Israelis from IMI have the last say. Just like the Germans not allowing licensed MTU engines from STX Korea for Altay. Edit: model designation corrected
