He said from what they have read, f35 prototype cost was 60billion dollars. (Of course the cost of the whole program was much higher due to problems encountered. But the initial prototype cost was 60billion dollars.)

Correct! But I wouldn‘t rule out 2 x 450HP turboprop powering Aksungur in the future! But PD222 should fit the bill. The way our commanders are going forward with our UAV fleet makes me think that; Akinci with more powerful engines (2 x 750HP) and extensive sensors (Aesa radar etc) will...

Yes. Less time in air. So it is a compromise. More altitude less time. More weight less time. Three variables: Altitude, Weight, Flight-Time If you increase one you decrease the others. To overcome this dilemma you need more power! More altitude also means more range for the KGK ammo. So more...

At the end of the video when KGK is a dot and you enlarge the picture you can see the wings opening. This corresponds with your explanation. Thanks! They really need to put those PD222 engines on these birds. Aksungur can only carry 150kg payload at 35000ft with these PD170 engines.

Why don’t the wings open after release ? OK there should be a delay. But surely, not this much!

In the article I shared here it says it is an Umtas/LUmtas launcher. But more likely to be a “Yalman” mast. But the article also states that if a longer range missile is produced as per Seahawk needs (penguin replacement) these could be altered to house those.

There appears to be serious alterations and additions on the front of the ship. It is as if it not just a CGI problem! But having read the modernisation in detail, you are correct. There does not seem to be a structural alteration planned. It is mainly radars, sensors and indigenous weapons...

This is an upgrade that will put these ships in a different league. Not just weapons and sensors/radars upgrade but a structural upgrade as well. Shape is becoming more stealthy. They are the fastest ships of the fleet. Unfortunately the upgrade was postponed due to need of ships of this...

Speed will definitely have role in range. But can winged ammo be released at supersonic speeds? If memory serves right, Israelis were able to release their rampage missiles only at 0.85-0.90 Mach. And not any higher. Rampage is, our trg300’s Israeli version. MAM-T has wings. Ok at 40000ft , air...

    Turkish American relationship

This article‘s front part is not quite right. It does not reflect true friction reasons. Placing sacks over Turkish soldiers in Suleimaniyah in Iraq was in response to Turkey not allowing US army free reign to invade Iraq in second gulf war through Turkish soil. Erdogan was not yet prime...

Biden Preparing to Declare That Atrocities Against Armenia Were Genocide

Main participant of WW1 and the largest biggest army was of the British. They were also the winners. History is written by the winners. After the war, all Ottoman top brass and MP’s were taken to Malta and put on trial for war crimes including the so called “Armenian genocide”. British had...

TR Turkiye's F-35 Project and Discussions

Kale and P&W can not be party to this conflict. It is between MOD Turkey and LM. Kale is a subcontractor to P&W. It has no legal standing in this argument. Also how much do you think those parts are? Compared to what they owe us, it is less than peanuts , no matter how much they can hike up the...

Actually if we had not alienated RR few years ago with TR Motor/Qatar fiasco , we could have asked RR to produce it. Or at least something similar to it! But the rate our engine projects are developing at the moment, I can’t see us, but going in to some sort of licensed production scheme for...

Turkey’s defence ministry’s counterpart here is Lockheed Martin. They will be asked to pay up for the undelivered planes and the monies they have received. Also for non-fulfilling a contract they are liable for compensating us. That would however occur in a perfect world. But still as a...

Penguin missile is a 35km to 55km range solid rocket fuelled missile. But it is subsonic. As with all solid fuelled missiles there is a shelf life. TJ-300 will enable us to overcome that problem and will give us over 100km range. No brainer!
