Expensive exercise to prove that iron dome works!
But to do it second time is silly!
This is when you need your “Iron Beam” completely operational with all the bells and whistles in full working order.
I would love to be wrong. But we have heard enough from both Mr Kotil and Demir about a lot of “will” , “shall” and “going to”s .
Proof of the pudding is in the eating!
Have we got on record that any of our companies is physically working on a domestic engine? The answer is no! How can anyone be...
Ibrahim Sunnetci mentions it:
Quote:
A special hull constructed from fiberglass is placed on the outside of the pressure hull to reduce the acoustic signature and improve hydrodynamics. Carbon fiber materials are also partially used in the construction of the outer hull, which uses special Radar...
It was well known even in 2011 that Turkey was planning to use home grown Aesa radar for the F16 planes. In fact I have posts by the members of this forum, published in other forums then, that by 2015 or latest by 2016, our F16 fighters would have Aselsan built Aesa radars. Then again I have...
This modernisation programme has been going on for months now.
The Tusas official is especially stressing on the fact that this is a structural modernisation and not an avionic one. (Just watch the video)
Aesa and avionic upgrades necessary for the “Ozgur” modernisation will come at a later...
US Pentagon claims that the Moskva was sunk by two Ukrainian Neptune missiles.

This ship was probably loaded to it’s brim with missiles and ammunition. Most of it’s weapons systems are very exposed. It...
Not necessarily. It only means that Altay has, as good a protection as the comparable German tanks. That in turn means that Turkey and any other country that chooses Altay, will have a tank with top notch ballistic protection. (Which means German armour technology is not unique)
I have a feeling that the reason that Akkor is not finding widespread use among our armoured vehicles and tanks has it’s roots at the cost of this system being a bit prohibitive for the time being as well as some technical issues that need to be ironed out.
Israel’s Trophy system costs close to...
@500 ,
Very effective! Do you now the power level of the laser being used and the usable operational range?
For a country like Israel where the skies are clear majority of time, this is great.
I guess the only drawback is the time the laser has to be in contact with the target which should be...
These are turbojet engines and will be producing jet thrust. So they have to have axial flow at compressor inlet and at turbine level. They usually have 4 compressor stages and 1 stage turbine. KTJ-3200 has a 4 stage axial flow compressor too like safran micro turbo engines.
TEI TJ-300 has a 4...
First of all please note that Kale names it’s engine according to the Newton thrust it can develop. TEI on the other hand names them according to the lbf thrust.
These engines are expendable engines. So they are not produced to very strict tolerances.
TJ-300, on paper develops 300lbf thrust...
Aksungur has already fired Teber bomb with a precision strike. Teber 82 uses a cheap (~2000$) 250kg mK82 bomb with (87kg explosive) and turns it in to a precision strike munition worth 25-30000 dollars that can hit moving targets from 30 km away.
MAM-T is also meant for Aksungur to use. So it...

Aksungur has hit with pinpoint accuracy using MAM-L missile.
This gives good flexibility when attacking islands and small sea targets. As we well know, Aksungur can carry 24 of these missiles.
I won’t even mention what it can...
It seems that no new extensions have been given and all relevant companies and ship...
@Nilgiri
Especially agree with your last paragraph as it is totally correct.
I hope that the US - Pakistan relations become friendlier too. So that we can get those engine licenses released for the T-129 helicopters.
But I can’t see Pakistan moving away from China as long as India is seen as a...
Theoretically possible. But it is inconclusive that SAR technology is being actively used to detect submarines. It is among different methods of detection of submarines in ports and at sea. But underwater detection capability of SAR, if true, is not apparently known openly...
Iskander missile is a tactical short range missile. It is basically a quasi ballistic (behaves like/semi ballistic) missile. It’s apogee is around 50-60km. Many versions have been built. At high altitude it travels at hypersonic speeds. It’s length. diameter and hence weight varies according to...
