Of course they do. That's the reason why the R&D team changed the landing gear configuration to begin with. It would've been more economical to use the landing gears from the TB2 instead, but that's not what Baykar did.
Heavier the airframe is, the sturdier the landing gear will be. I don't know what you were expecting to be honest. TB3 will be slightly heavier than the TB2 (which itself is light as heck). You don't need the landing gear configuration of an F/A-18 on this thing.
