what the fuck "Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey have also invited other NATO countries to join the initiative to clear the Black Sea and secure sea routes. Now, however, the agreement has undergone a very important change. Turkey had opposed the involvement of NATO countries outside the region in...

We'll always have the Haliç Shipyard as well 🤭 I'm expecting something similar to Istanbul batch 1 for TF2000 . First ship by navy, next by privates.

Looks like design language changed a bit from the original 3D artwork and they are following the models from 2022 now. Wonder if it will be the ASW or ASuW variant. https://www.savunmasanayist.com/yenilenen-ulaq-sida-ve-konfigurasyonlari-tanitildi/

Oh come on, this is no global firepower. Of course it fluctuates and not every ton is equal. But it does somewhat give an idea on which is where if you have some idea of what to look for, like the huge number of AORs US employs, lack of AORs French employ, submarines the Russians employ, RFA...

A nice set of graphics could help better illustrate where we at right now. Released yesterday, top ten largest navies by tonnage on Jan 1 2024. Turkey is 11th on this list, per the author, just shy of 300000 tonnes at 297000. Once Istanbul is officially inducted into the service, we will have...

TBH i'm counting every Hisar added to the fleet as a +1 new ship. Buraks they are replacing are on death bed with little to no operational capacity for some time afaik. SSİK did say more OPHs but no clear numbers there. We should be seeing new contracts for at least 2-4 ships this year i think...

Greece has been pressing for this for the last 50 years. Their biggest current supporters in the endeavor is not US, who is only interested in stability it can control. Their supporters are Germany, France and Italy. Because Greek and South Cypriot EEZ is European EEZ. US base in Thrace is a...

I mostly agree with you on the post, except this part. They don't now, because they don't have a reason to, yet. A far right Germany will still be Germany. And unlike F-35, which we were a part of and had some say in the project, on EF-2000, we will just be a customer, with no say whatsoever...

TR F-16 Özgür | Hürkuş - Fighter Trainer Aircraft Projects

That's no longer a Hürkuş, complete overkill. Smallest twin PT6 aircraft I know of is the Piper P-31T, a 6 to 8 person high speed long range small business aircraft. And it runs with smaller variant at a bit higher than 600shp each. A 1600shp PT6 like on the Hürkuş is more than enough to power...

TR Turkiye's F-35 Project and Discussions

Yet multiple products we had at the time were to be integrated to F-35 like HGK, KGK, LGK, and SOM-J. TEI is 46% owned by US. There is literally an American on the board of directors. When we make TF35000 and Kaan, it will still be with the blessing of US. This was never the plan, HvKK never...

TR Turkiye's F-35 Project and Discussions

And yet, its advantages still outweighed its disadvantages by a mile and every user keep giving more orders even if they have their own projects seperate from US as well. Can't overwrite history. Turkey didn't decide to not buy F-35. Turkey bought S-400 and thought US wouldn't dare to follow...

TR Aircraft Carrier & Amphibious Ship Programs

There was a talk of employing hovercrafts for the marines about 10 years ago, even LCAC for Anadolu which I believe can carry a single one instead of 4 LCMs. Didn't hear anything for ages. If there will be 2 LHDs and maybe even 6 LSTs, marine battalion will indeed need to be expanded, to a full...

Engine is possible, doubt we can match PT6's 500 million flight hours tho :D 64.000 engines since 1963. "With more than 64,000 PT6 engines produced since its introduction in 1963, it powers over 155 different aviation applications. The PT6 is unmatched in engine performance, reliability and...

TR F-16 Özgür | Hürkuş - Fighter Trainer Aircraft Projects

We did sell/transfer Hürkuş to two very unfriendly to west countries, Chad and Niger. PT6 is not a strategic asset and Hürkuş is unimportant enough to fly under the radar. Converting TS1400 to just replace PT6 for Hürkuş doesn't make any fiscal sense. Couple it with drones and future twin engine...

TR F-16 Özgür | Hürkuş - Fighter Trainer Aircraft Projects

TS1400 may be converted to turboprop in the future and used but PT6 is basically an industry standard with over 50000 built with a great safety record. We do need a turboprop at that range, mainly for drones, but it is a tough sell for trainer customers. Could be interesting for the combat variant.

I feel the need the add as many will not read the fine print, this is not new per Sünnetçi and is from 2021. It is not yet clear if plans changed and if the NGAC is Trakya or a third ship.
