The reason why instead of waiting for a domestic engine, foreign engines were chosen for the T-929 is because apparently the Land Aviation Command wants deliveries ASAP starting with 3 helis to be delivered in 2025. That's 2 years between first flight and first delivery BTW.

@Nilgiri the latest design which was revealed at the last presentation by the Air Force and on the video shared by TAI is more up to date and shows/indicates 4 BVRAAM + 2 SRAAM missiles carriable inside the weapons bay
