Cats is a system composed of many systems ..one of them is the ir sensor ..the sensor is formed of many subsystem such as ROIC,cooling,fpa ..the most critical part is the FPA ... Its a very advanced tech owned only by few of world giants .. there is many types of the FPAs .. aselsan works...
Its a big step ..as far as i remember ..they use completely local power group including engines and transmissions .. the design could be improved more ..but the most important is to qualify the power group
They produce ROICs not FPAs ...they are different subsystems of the the sensor .. aselsan is working on FPAs ..they already reached the mass production with uncooled microbolometer but still not with the cooled mct detector
Uncooled Microbolometers are usually less quality than cooled mct sensors ... So they are cheaper and used in items that require no high quality fotos ..like atgms seekers
