"The Minister of National Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak, announced that he had signed an inquiry for the purchase of six more Patriot batteries. “We are starting the second phase of the air defense program,” he wrote."

Why would anyone spend multi million dollars interceptor for cheap drones?

PAC-3's main role is missile defence with excellent ABM as well as low flying cruise missile interception capability.

And MSE modification gives it superior anti aircraft capability as well.

For cheap drones you will need triple A guns. ( which can be easily procured )

It seems the Saudis have no way of intercepting them when their facilities were hit or where those triple A guns are at. Even a Ukrainian SAM ended up in Poland killing someone and they have those systems active.

"
Poland signed a contract on Monday to build 48 launchers for the US-designed Patriot air and missile defense systems to boost Warsaw’s military capabilities.

The eastern European country has accelerated the modernization of its armed forces after Russia began a full-scale invasion of neighboring Ukraine in 2022.

According to the deal signed on Monday, the M903 launchers will be produced at Stalowa Wola steelworks in Poland and are expected to be delivered to the Polish army between 2027 and 2029.

“This contract strengthens Polish security,” Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz told reporters after signing the deal worth $1.23 billion."

Its a part of that older deal. This contract specifically only said that launchers for 6 batteries will be produced in Poland, first 2 batteries, 16 launchers are being produced in US.
