Successful mid-life upgrade for the Armed Forces of Malta​

Following the successful completion of the mid-life upgrade for the mission system of the Maltese Armed Forces' third maritime patrol aircraft, the entire fleet in the Mediterranean region is now equipped with state-of-the-art mission system technology. The King Air B200 aircraft, originally delivered back in 2017, was recently modernised in Braunschweig and transferred to the Maltese Armed Forces with new sensor capabilities.
At the same time of the aircraft delivery, we also handed over for the first time a tailor-made training system with complete simulation of all sensors and generation of typical mission scenarios. The training station includes a cockpit simulation combined with an AeroMission® workstation. This complete equipment enables the training of the entire crew in the cockpit, cabin and on the ground. The simulation system was developed in close cooperation with the Australian software company Cirrus RTP, and we designed the accompanying training courses together with the British company JD2E. Funding and co-financing for this project was provided by the Border Management and Visa Instrument as part of the Integrated Border Management Fund and from EU funds.
In addition to the training station, we also delivered a ground information management system that enables the reception and storage of data during a mission flight. It also includes a comprehensive analysis and visualisation function for the mission data.

Successful project milestone​

At the start of last year, we were delighted to receive a new contract for our AeroFIS® flight inspection system. We have now reached another important milestone: over a two-week period, we welcomed our client to our site for test flights and comprehensive training. Together, we were able to successfully test the system in operation and prepare the users for their future missions.
Following successful customer acceptance, the system was integrated into a Piaggio aircraft by our partner RAS earlier this year. This marks the first time our AeroFIS® flight inspection system has been used in an aircraft of this type.
We are delighted to be supporting our client as they establish their flight inspection service and would like to thank them for their trust and the collaborative partnership. We wish them every success for their upcoming missions!
