although gaddafi is gone , general haftar still a potent threat for our national security..but above all, morocco is and will still be our major enemy , and beside morocco there are some arabs gulf country who try to interfering and to play a dominant role in the region in the profit of morocco and general haftar aiming to weaken and destabilize Algeria

As far as I know AAF did not accept this upgrade and instead they upgraded the mi-17 to V5 Russian version right ?

not exactly algeria upgraded 3 unite to this standard but after Paramount take over ATE , algeria cease all kind of collaboration with ATE ,and many project where aborted including the MI 24 MK IV program and the modernized BMP-2 ...

For now all the fleet of the mi-171 will be upgraded to this standard with full glass cockpit and PRESIDENT-S L370 Vitebsk helicopter self-protection system (DIRCM) and OPS-24N-1L observation-sight system
