Russian warships docked at the port of Algiers on Friday in order to participate in the Joint Naval Exercise 2021 with the Algerian navy and promote joint actions of the Algerian-Russian maritime forces, said in a statement on Saturday, November 13. the Department of National Defense (DND).
“As part of the realization of Algerian-Russian military cooperation for exercise 2021, a detachment of ships from the Black Sea fleet, made up of Admiral Grigorovich's frigate, patrol vessel Dmitry Rogatchev and lifeboat SB-742, arrived, Friday, November 12, 2021, at the port of Algiers to participate in the international exercise Exercise Naval Interarmées - 2021 with ships of the Algerian navy ”, specifies the DND.
The press release added that "the exercise will continue until November 20" and that the two fleets "will conduct communication exercises, joint operation sessions, training of inspection teams, a demonstration exercise on the control of damage ”with the aim of“ exchanging experiences and consolidating joint coordination ”.
