MZK looks really good tbh, also BKM's brochure states that it has better KE performance than T-72M1 (around 500-600mm RHA eq.) so it should be fine against modern sabots, capacity of 18 rounds for 105mm L7A1, CITV-Gunner thermals, Örümcek, RCWS, etc etc

Excellent turret, a capable gun and superb sensors.

But the chassis, new paint job can't hide it anymore.

I can hear its plea loud and clear-
"Please put that turret on some youngling. (Kaplan, Tuplar or whatever.) And just let me rest in peace this time."

Now, we just need to develop a guided 105mm munition that we can use from this turret to give M60s a new life.

Then, we should develop a light tank that'll exchange heavy armour for mobility and a focus on new active protection systems like CIWS and jammers. While heavy tanks like Altay will always remain at the heart of armoured warfare, light tanks, imo, will be invaluable with their ability to swiftly shoot and scoot, which guided munitions will also help.

There is only one thing I wonder: Since it is an automatic loader, what will prevent the ammunition that is hit from exploding and losing all personnel at once, as seen in Russian tin cans? What precautions were taken against this situation?

This is a video showcasing only the turret, but a different modernization package is developed that also adds skirts.
Look at modern tanks. Turrent is wide as chassis is, for better protection.

Autoloader isn't the problem with Russian tanks, its the location of the ammo. Since the ammo sits way down under the turret basket and under the poor crew, they can't properly isolate them into a safe storage space.

French Leclerc tanks also have autoloaders, but the ammo sits in a sealed compartment on the back of a turret.

In case of a hit, the ammo cooks off behind a sealed door. Like so:

blowout panels. but not even they guarantee defense against a jack in the box, challies got jacked when blowouts failed afaik in ukraine. challies don't even have an autoloader but it still got a turret blown up to the high heavens. ammo explosion is always a possibility with or without autoloaders.

i dunno if the MZK has blowouts tho'.
Challenger's dont have blowout panels

Building mbt test field next to MMU building within Tusaş does not make sense to me but maybe someone here has an explanation to this claim:

It actually may be valid (though it still does not make sense to me to build both MMU and Altay factories within a km to each other).

Check out the link below saying "Kahramankazan facilities next to TUSAŞ are being built."
