Amentum Awarded $818M Contract to Modernize U.S. Navy F-16 Adversary Fleet



CHANTILLY, Va., August 2, 2023 – Amentum was awarded an $818 million contract for adversary aircraft sustainment and modernization of the U.S. Navy F-16 fleet. Amentum will manage all aspects of the Viper Maintenance Group Aircraft Maintenance and Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) contract by providing technical, sustainment and logistics solutions for the Navy F-16 aircraft based at Naval Air Station (NAS) Fallon, Nevada.


“Amentum has been an essential partner to the Navy at Fallon on F-16 Adversary flight operations for the Navy’s premier weapons schools like TOPGUN, as well as Navy Air Wing Training, and fleet support detachments across the U.S.,” said Dr. Karl Spinnenweber, President of the Critical Missions Group. “Navy F-16 Vipers play a vital role as the aggressor in fighter combat training, and our work securing Viper modernization is key to the Navy and Marine Corps fighter squadron’s combat readiness.”


Under this contract, Amentum maintains F-16/A/B/C/D aircraft and provides full system maintenance and supply chain support to support continuous flight operations, along with many detachments executed simultaneously with home station operations. During the contract period, Amentum will support the Navy in growing their F-16 Adversary fleet across all sites.


“Our F-16 Adversary CLS work combined with our similar support of the Navy and Marine Corp’s F-5 Adversary program positions Amentum as the premier partner to the Department of the Navy for their organic Adversary services across the fleet,” said Joe Kelly, SVP of Sustainment, Analytics and Aviation Solutions. “Amentum is committed to the mission of the Navy’s top weapons schools to sustain operational combat readiness and defeat peer competitors.”


This single-award indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract begins August 31, 2023, has a five-year base period and a three-year option period, and is contracted through Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) supporting the Naval Aviation Warfighting Development Center (NAWDC) and the Naval Air Forces Reserve, Tactical Support Wing (TSW).

Amentum Awarded Seat on $3.2B U.S. Army’s Gateway to Sustainment IDIQ to Provide Engineering Solutions


CHANTILLY, VA; August 22, 2023 – Amentum has been awarded a seat on the Multiple-award Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Gateway to Sustainment (G2S) ten-year contract with a maximum value of $3.2 billion to develop, engineer and rapidly deploy technologies for the U.S. Army Communications and Electronics Command (CECOM), Defense Logistics Agency and other DOD and Federal Agencies.


“G2S is another great opportunity for Amentum to provide our cutting-edge solutions and leverage our expertise in technology and engineering modernization for the U.S. Army,” said Jill Bruning, President of Amentum’s Engineering, Science, and Technology Group.


Amentum will provide aggressive, scaled, and agile engineering solutions on the G2S IDIQ contract to drive the fast-paced acquisition and deployment of systems including counter-IED and mine detection; electronic warfare; aircraft survivability; and training. Amentum is also poised to provide ancillary engineering, obsolescence monitoring, and test and evaluation services that could be ordered on G2S.

Amentum Awarded $326.9 Million C5ISR Research Contract Driving Advanced and Emerging Technologies for the U.S. Army

CHANTILLY, VA; October 16, 2023 – Amentum has been awarded a five-year contract with a maximum value of $326.9 million by the U.S. Army to continue its important work on command, control, communication, computers, cyber, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C5ISR) systems. Amentum will engineer, integrate and test advanced prototype technologies and systems. The Army is managing the program out of the Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland.


“As a premier engineering partner for the U.S. Army, we can enable new technology capabilities to protect our national security.” said Jill Bruning, President of Amentum’s Engineering, Science, and Technology Group.


Under this contract, Amentum will provide technology and engineering solutions for prototyping projects executed by The Prototyping, Integration and Testing Division (PI&TD). These engineering modernization and integration projects directly support emerging technical needs of the warfighter. PI&TD provides support to several military program management offices including DEVCOM, Warfighter Information Network Tactical (WIN-T), Mission Command, Radars, DCGS-A, Special Operations Command, and Marine Corp (USMC).


Additionally, Amentum will design, develop, and fabricate C5ISR systems, sub-systems, components, installation kits, and systems-of-systems for integration into ground-based, vehicular, shelter, airborne, watercraft, soldier, and dismounted platforms, both tactical and non-tactical, and into fixed and re-locatable sites.

Amentum Awarded $441.3 Million ITEAMS Contract to Drive Agility and Innovations for USINDOPACOM C5ISR Missions


CHANTILLY, VA; November 6, 2023 – Amentum has been awarded a five-year contract with a maximum value of $441.3 million by USINDOPACOM to deliver critical command, control, communication, computers, cyber, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C5ISR) systems. Amentum will provide complex analysis, experimentation, and testing, to optimize the effectiveness of DoD missions and advance USINDOPACOM priorities. USINDOPACOM is managing the program out of Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii.

Amentum Awarded $165 Million DoS Contracts to Improve National Security in Africa


CHANTILLY, Va., November 8, 2023 – Amentum was awarded U.S. Department of State (DoS) Africa Peacekeeping Program (AFRICAP) task orders to provide complex training and development in Benin as well as design, engineering and build management in multiple locations throughout Somalia. This critical work, which began in October with $165 million in cumulative total value, will help bolster the capacity in Africa to fight extremist groups and protect national security.


“Our extensive training expertise navigating challenging environments in protection of national security makes us the premier partner to the DoS on the Trans-Sahara Counterterrorism Partnership for the Forces Armées Béninoises,” said Dr. Karl Spinnenweber, President of Amentum’s Critical Missions Group. “We also look forward to completing complex design and engineering projects around austere Somalian environments as a top partner to the DoS in Africa.”


On one task order, Amentum will deliver a complex training program to improve the capabilities of the Beninese Armed Forces in safeguarding national security through mobilization training, non-commissioned officer development, company-grade officer leadership management, train-the-trainer programs, and basic military training and field-base exercises.


Amentum will also complete a design and build project for permanent and sustainable bases for the Somalia National Army Danab in six priority locations. Amentum experts will utilize extensive knowledge of ground and environmental conditions through the design process to mitigate construction and build risks.

Leveraging advanced technologies and best practices, the company will provide life-cycle transport aircraft system modernization, integration, logistical and operational solutions, as well as pilot services and management processes.


“Leveraging Amentum’s expertise performing these services, this win demonstrates the U.S. Army’s confidence in Amentum’s ability to manage a large-scale complex program while maintaining a quality and long-term solutions approach,” said Dr. Karl Spinnenweber, President of the Critical Missions Group. “Amentum’s approach to delivering life-cycle aviation solutions enables us to distinguish what we can do for our customers and be the key partner to the customer for this critical mission.”


Under this contract, Amentum performs life-cycle services including sustainment, modernization, and logistics for a combined fleet of 150 aircraft. The Army’s transport fleet includes C-12, C-26, T-6, and UC-35 aircraft. Amentum has teamed with Stevens Aerospace and Defense Systems of Greenville, South Carolina as the primary depot maintenance facility.


To ensure a technical advantage, Amentum can incorporate the use of its Augmented Reality Remote Expert™ offering and other maintenance-augmenting technologies. Advanced technologies like augmented reality headsets can connect resources at the work location with off-site subject matter experts such as engineers, safety experts, program management offices and other government points-of-contact in real time.

Amentum Awarded $592 Million U.S. Navy NAVSEA PMS326 Contract for Lifecycle and Engineering Solutions for International Fleets


CHANTILLY, VA; February 27, 2024 – Amentum has been awarded a $591.6 million contract by the U.S. Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) International Fleet Support Program Office (PMS 326) to deliver life-cycle support and other follow-on technical solutions and services to eligible allied international naval forces. This contract enables Amentum to deliver naval ship and systems engineering, maintenance, sustainment, and modernization capabilities to numerous allied navies.

Under this contract, Amentum will provide foreign customers access to security cooperation solutions and follow-on technical support (FOTS), including system upgrades, systems integration support, training, and efforts related to the transfer and acquisition, operation, and maintenance of naval vessels. We will use our ShipTRAC enterprise resource planning system, ship and system technical expertise, and global supply chain management system to deliver advanced solutions to NAVSEA PMS 326 and their Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers.

Amentum Awarded $245 Million IAC MAC Contract to Deliver Microelectronics Capabilities for the U.S. Navy


CHANTILLY, VA; March 11, 2024 – Amentum has been awarded a $245 million, five-year task order by the U.S. Air Force for the Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) supporting Microelectronics Facilities and Laboratories Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) for the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane Strategic Microelectronics Division (GXM) and the Navy’s Strategic Systems Programs (SSP). The contract will strengthen our nation’s deterrence and defense by delivering state of the art services and independent data driven solutions and establishing GXM as the national leader in high-reliability, radiation hardened microelectronics.


“Amentum will leverage our digital engineering ecosystem and model-based system engineering expertise to enhance capabilities for strategic radiation hardened microelectronics.” said Jill Bruning, President of Amentum’s Engineering, Science, and Technology Group.


Under this Task Order, Amentum will use its Integrated Digital Engineering Approach (IDEA) to perform R&D, technology maturation and insertion, analysis, testing, and systems engineering to assess and enhance microelectronics facilities and laboratories. This will include updating and enhancing related microelectronics T&E facilities and laboratories; related capabilities associated with the Navy’s Fleet Ballistic Missile system and Strategic Weapons System; and DoD strategic weapons platforms employing advanced and critical microelectronics technologies. Amentum will also support the Navy by increasing prototyping and test surge capacity and providing radiation hardened and survivability subject matter expertise.
