Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) General Manager Mehmet Demiroğlu: "We started sonar integration for both GÖKBEY and the 10-ton helicopter. We will provide the Naval Forces with a serious capability at sea with a domestic sonar."
Now that the immersion sonar studies, which are probably the most detailed part of the integration activities, have become concrete; It is the clearest sign that GÖKBEY will move towards becoming a domestic "AW159 Wildcat (HMA2)" equivalent that will lighten the load of the SH-60 Seahawks in the future and play a hunter/spotter role in regional seas.
In the coming period, it is possible that on the structural side, variantization (marinization) for corrosion protection, foldable blade mechanism and domestic ammunition (torpedo/missile) integration activities will begin.

Demiroğlu also made the following remarks regarding the 10-ton general-purpose helicopter:
"We currently have a 10-ton helicopter that we are working on. We showed its mock-up at IDEF last year. That work is now nearing completion, and the product is starting to take shape. We will be conducting tests next year. We aim to deliver 8 helicopters by 2028, capable of carrying up to 4 tons of water for firefighting purposes. Being over 2.5 tons is very important. Those below that are not effective, but 2.5-3 tons, up to 4 tons, are much more effective. These will be able to carry 4 tons. The other helicopters we will build for the land and air forces will also have this feature. All our helicopters will have the infrastructure to be used in firefighting when needed."
