Iranian trucks have illegally entered Karabakh during Armenian occupation: President Aliyev

Iranian trucks have been illegally entering the Karabakh region on a regular basis since before the region was liberated from Armenian occupation last fall, according to Azerbaijan's president.

Ilham Aliyev was commenting on the recent entry of the trucks as part of an exclusive interview with Anadolu Agency in which he evaluated the second Karabakh war, which erupted on Sept. 27, 2020.

"This is not the first time that Iran's trucks have illegally traveled to the Karabakh region. This is something that happened repeatedly during the occupation period,” Aliyev said.

"We had the information. But there was, of course, no clear information like now. With this in mind, we were expressing our dissatisfaction with the illegal crossings through various channels, but this process continued.”

Around 60 Iranian trucks entered Azerbaijan’s Karabakh region without permission between Aug. 11 and Sept. 11 this year after Azerbaijan called on Iran to put an end to the practice, he said.

"Then we started to control the road passing through Azerbaijani land, and the trucks sent by Iran to Karabakh came to an end," he said, adding if they use Azerbaijani land, they should pay taxes.

Aliyev also commented on a military drill launched by Iran near the Azerbaijani border.

"This is a very surprising event. Every country can carry out any military drill on its own territory. It's their sovereign right. But why now, and why on our border?"

"Why weren't the drills held when the Armenians were in the Jabrayil, Fizuli and Zangilan regions? Why is this being done after we liberated these lands, after 30 years of occupation?"

Turkey-Azerbaijan relations

Aliyev also highlighted the close relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey.

"There is no such example of cooperation, friendship and brotherhood around the world. The second Karabakh war proved this once again.

“Our relations reached even higher levels after the second Karabakh war,” he said.

"I think that the relations, which are getting stronger day by day, increasing joint projects, our solidarity and brotherhood are an example for all our neighbors. If all our neighbors had established their relations with Turkey the way Azerbaijan does, then there would be no war in the world," he added.

Armenia making overtures to Turkey

Touching on Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's positive signals towards Turkey, Aliyev said Armenia, which opposes a six-nation platform for regional peace comprising Turkey, Russia, Iran, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia, now declares that it wants to normalize relations with Turkey.

"If you want to normalize (it), first respond positively to this platform. Otherwise, there is a contradiction here again," he asserted.

He went on to say that Armenia should renounce a territorial claim against Turkey which is included in its constitution.

"How can a weak and completely shattered country like Armenia make a territorial claim against a giant country like Turkey? This is something like a mental illness."

They should also abandon their claims against Azerbaijan and normalize relations with the country, he said.

"I am sure that the Turkish side always favors peace and wide-ranging cooperation in the region. There are very positive signals coming from Turkey. But in Armenia, this needs to be evaluated correctly."

Nagorno-Karabakh

Relations between the former Soviet republics of Azerbaijan and Armenia have been tense since 1991, when the Armenian military occupied Nagorno-Karabakh, also known as Upper Karabakh, a territory internationally recognized as part of Azerbaijan, and seven adjacent regions.

New clashes erupted last September and ended on Nov. 10 with a Russian-brokered cease-fire.

During the 44-day conflict, Azerbaijan liberated several cities and nearly 300 settlements and villages from Armenia's nearly three-decade occupation.

"How can a weak and completely shattered country like Armenia make a territorial claim against a giant country like Turkey? This is something like a mental illness."
That question is relatively stupid IMO!

I mean if that is the case then I can also say how can a weak and completely shattered county like Greece make a territorial claim against a gian country like Turkey? This is something like a mental illness"

This is just pure revenge against the Ottomans tbh
After the Ottomans lost, Islam fell from the throne of dominance, and was replaced by chritisanity of the West; thus, all of the former christian empires are taking their revenge against the raping they got during the 400+ years of the Ottomans period!

Greece, remainder of the majestic Byzantine empire after getting raped by the Ottomans, now wants their revenge against the remainder of the Ottomans
Armenia, after getting destroyed and kicked out from the eastern part or the Ottoman empire by the Ottomans, now wants their revenge against the remainder of the Ottomans
French, a country that was crushed multiple times by the Ottoman army during its glorious days now wants to take revenge against the remainder of the Ottomans

What is even more funny is that while the whole world will regard the Turks as the descendants of the Ottomans, the Turks themselves are trapped in a cycle of self-denial on their imperial heritage and somehow believe that the Ottoman's legacy are a "disgrace" to the turks (truly sad situation tbh) and try to implement western values into their culture which makes it easier for broken countries like Greece and Armenia to actually hurt Turkey

At the end,
Turkey has little countries like Greece and Armenia to hurt it
The West implemented radical kurds into Turkish "political" system under the guise of rotten democracy
Turkish population became divided over those who
1-respect their imperial heritage and wanna grow,
2-those who just wanna implement pure brainwashing of western values in turkish ppl,
3-those who believe that all is fine as long as turks can eat and drink even if their critical infrastructure and weapons like F35 and patriots arent even under their control,
4- Radical islamists
5-Hypocritical traitors who doesnt even believe in the integrity of their homeland
6- and those who just doesnt care about whether Turkey lives or gets fqed

Truly a fqed up situation
This is why I hate democracy, even though it has really good concepts like presence of opposition parties etc...
This is why I respect Putin and Xi Jinping since (even if they arent democratic) they still one way or another wanna restore their former imperial heritage.
China, alone, acoounts to a massive portion of the Worlds economy and many nations are indebted to it
Russia already annexed and took back one of its former USSR land areas that was lost when the USSR fell while the West were just rubbing their asses

Mark my words when I say that Russia will one day manage to annex all of Ukraine and the Balkans
Mark my words when China's importance in global economy and politics becomes more significant than the whole West combined

Iran isn’t Armenia.
Still not a very challenging army against a modern equipped and well trained one.
Booth Turkey and Azerbaijan clearly have advantage, Iran massing outdated armor with zero protection to the borders its nothing a but a show, it would be gone in the first couple days even Iran itself knows this.

And before you come up with missile argument, Armenia also used missiles against Azerbaijan and how did that end?
And lastly lets not forget what happened after qassem suleymani got killed? Not only did the missiles do nothing except giving headache to a couple US soldiers but Iran got exposed how ill its prepared for war by mistakenly shooting down own passenger plane. (Seriously how is that even possible? Passenger planes usually have transponders)

They stand zero chance against a modern army with good EW capabilities like Turkey.

Thats why Iran is trying to get nukes as they are outmatched in technology and organisation to make up for the short comings they are resorting to nukes.

Im just saying whats probably gonna happen.
You should never underestimate any enemy under any circumstances but what i have seen so far from iranian military is pointing towards what i said.
Iran is good with asymetrical warfare no doubt, they can hurt you with proxies but conventional military is way behind irgc regarding capabilities.
But proxies only have limited use and Turkey is quite experienced with dealing paramilitaries and guerillas.

Iran cant be that retarded to go against Azerbaijan+Turkey for the sake of Armenia.

Some users said Iran is not a force to be underestimated.
Of course, it is a highly militaristic state despite being embargoed for decades but power projection is sth else. They relied on shia groups in Middle East but I dont know how they would project power in Caucasus.

I agrew with Xenon. The Iranian government strongest weapon is propaganda and screeming. No strong facts on the ground.

When Zack Snyder's movie 300 came out in the cinemas, the Iranian government yelled that 'Iran never lost a war in history'. They forgot the Battle of Chaldiran and the Ottoman wars, they forgot the Russio-Persian wars, like nothing happened.

They are good with proxies and mini speedboats harrassing tankers in the Gulf and afcourse screaming on national tv with their gay language (Persian language is verry gay, i know because i am a Zaza).

Iran's most effective weapon is sectarian brainwashing.
It's taken Iraq and Iraqis hostage and it can determine its fate using their minions who'd throw themselves into fire just because one of their mullah's decree.
We can see countless examples not just in Iraq but in Syria, Lebanon, Yemen and other places.
There's no point arguing with brainwashed individuals.

Although Iran is strong and stubborn, but making a real enemy of Turks is the dumbest thing it would do and it'll be the beginning of their demise.

Historically Iranians hate Turks because we never feared them and stopped their expansion to Anatolia/East Europe and the Levant.

The greatest desire of the Persian/Iranian kings was acces to the Mediterranean Sea and Asia Minor/Thrace and we never let it happen.

Thats why they hate Turks more than Arabs or Kurds.

Wish turkey could just invade north iran and just govern itself with the 15-25 million ethnic turks there. The shia are good at barking on how they are against west even if history shows us how much they allied with the non muslims against the muslims.

They never lost a war why did the Greeks/Macedonians, Arabs, Turks and Mongols all conquered and occupied Persia.

The Persian Empires which they praise as Iranian or Persian were Turkic in origin like the Safavids, Afsharids and the Qajars.

Nader Shah the hero of the Iranians was an Avsar Turk. But Persians tell us to cope about it lmaoo 🤣

They get triggered that every time his Avsar heritage is talked about. Nader Shah numerous times mentioned his Avsar and Turkmen origins even being proud about it.

He justified his conquests by saying he wants to unite the Turks under one banner.
