Use your relation with Israel to go for F-16's from the US instead.

even if that were to happen, US would just block any sales/sanction if there is another war with Armenia, how is that better than Russia?

reality is, until Turkey gets Kaan with domestic engines, Russia/China is the best choice

Why the hell would your airforce want 45 Su 35's?
So still some Russian stooges in your airforce, right?
It just doesnt make sense.
Our lovers of all things Russian haven't disappeared. When the time comes, they quickly become active.
In the very first days of the war in Ukraine, the head of the Russian community and member of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan, Mikhail Zabelin, loudly declared his full support for Russian aggression.
However, he was quickly silenced. This was his last public appearance.

I recently wrote here about the strange activities of the Academy of Sciences. Its president in recent years was "academician" Ramiz Mehdiyev. He is a former politician who never had any connection to science other than embezzlement from the state treasury. Now he is arrested and accused of numerous crimes. The media have declared him a Russian agent of influence.

Furthermore, he is accused of attempting a coup d'état. It turns out that our civilian Embraer-190 jet, shot down by Russian air defenses last year, was shot down by mistake. The Russians' real target was Aliyev's presidential plane, which took off 30 minutes after the passenger Embraer. It's alleged that the former Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijani Army, Colonel General Najmeddin Sadykov, collaborated with the Russian military on "technical issues."
Some of our websites claim the general is currently... in Turkey.
Under interrogation!
As we recall, even during the war, there were rumors of his dismissal from service due to suspicious ties with Russians.

As for the Su-35, I'm not only against it, I'm generally against any cooperation with Russia in the defense and security sphere.
The first deliveries of the 42 JF-17s ordered are expected at the end of this year.
And then, it's better to wait for the KAAN.

There is no real source on Su-35. It’s some random social media talk it seems.

It’s indeed M2 variant as can be seen from the search radar. There is no doubt that these were ordered after 2020 as Azerbaijan never operated Tor before.

I think it would be wise to keep getting minimum hardware Russian /Chinese that you can't get elsewhere. Fighter jets are still very much needed. Maybe not so many, but a few at a time. I think it's an opportunity to know the fighterjets first hand. Even if they are worse than western counter parts.

Just remember that you need a whole new fleet of fighterjets and years to master the new ones.

No need to toss out things you can get easily

new Israeli PULS MLRS on Tatra chassis, Azerbaijan signed a large contract for many of these systems, while also already having a large number in service, Azerbaijan is already the biggest user of PULS MLRS in the world.

Was this the system that Turkiye was interested in buying, the cheapest option with tech transfer? But threats of american sanctions on all Turkish companies put Turkiye off it?

HQ-9BE is the newest export variant. What was offered to Turkey was a less capable system than this (but that was also back in 2010s).
