The TEBER Guidance Kit developed by Roketsan was exported to Bangladesh. Bangladesh has become the first export customer of TEBER guidance kit.
Bangladesh has been increasing its defense supply from Turkey for a while. Bangladesh, which has recently supplied TRG-300 and TRG-230 guided missile systems from Roketsan, has also ordered the TEBER Guidance Kit. According to the information obtained by SavunmaSanayiST.com, Bangladesh became the first export customer of TEBER Guidance Kit.
According to the information obtained by SavunmaSanayiST.com, Chengdu F-7BG fighter jets in the inventory of Bangladesh Air Force Command have been integrated with the TEBER Guidance Kit developed by Roketsan, Turkey’s leading manufacturer of rocket and missile systems. After the integration studies and tests were completed, the kits were delivered to Bangladesh.
Integration to Bangladeshi Chengdu F-7BG
It is known that TEBER Guidance Kit integration activities for Chengdu F-7BG aircraft of the Bangladesh Air Force started in August 2019. Since the F-7BG warplanes produced by China-based Chengdu Aircraft did not have the ability to drop the smart bomb, the integration was carried out in a different way.In this context, S-KIT, developed by Roketsan and capable of intelligently distinguishing the ammunition attached to the aircraft, was integrated into the Chengdu F-7BG aircraft in the inventory of Bangladesh Air Force Command.
A government-to-government (G2G) agreement with Bangladesh in the defense industry was signed in June 2021. Under the agreement, Roketsan products would be exported to Bangladesh.
“Our defense industry continues to deliver its capabilities to all over the world. Within the scope of the Government-to-Government (G2G) Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that we signed with Bangladesh, the export agreement of various Roketsan products was concluded,” President of the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) Ismail Demir said.
So far, it has been confirmed that systems developed by Roketsan such as TRG-300, TRG-230 and TEBER have been exported to Bangladesh.
TEBER is a guidance kit that enhances the hit capability of MK-81 and MK-82 general purpose bombs.
TEBER converts these dumb bombs into smart weapon systems through the incorporation of an Inertial Navigation System [INS], a Global Positioning System [GPS] and a Laser [SAL] Seeker. TEBER increases the ability of the bomb to strike both static and mobile targets with high precision. TEBER can also be detonated by its proximity sensor.
