The French ship responsible for laying the electricity cable is set to depart on Monday after France sent a formal notice to Turkey. Sadly, I believe that this is a trap since the goal isnt to supply Greek Cyprus with electricity from Greece but to transfer Israeli electricity to Europe through Greece. If this project comes to fruition, I wouldnt be surprised if the EU stopped purchasing Gas through Turkish pipeline even if it is way cheaper than the Israeli counterpart as long as Turkey gets to suffer since this is how Europe operates after all
Greek media already reported that the current cable laying operation is only the first phase with the second one involving connectinb both Greek Cyprus and Israel
