In turn, the Yemeni Prime Minister sent his greetings and the greetings of the Yemeni President to the Saudi leadership.

During the meeting, the Vice Minister of Defense confirmed the keenness of the Kingdom-led Coalition to establish security, peace and stability in Yemen, highlighting the Kingdom’s welcome to the announcement of the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General to Yemen to start a truce ceasing all military operations inside Yemen and on the Saudi-Yemeni borders, in line with the Saudi initiative announced in March 2021 to end the Yemeni crisis and reach a comprehensive political solution.

"The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia hopes that this truce will contribute to the political efforts to reach a political settlement through the Yemeni-Yemeni consultations held under the auspices of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)," Prince Khaled said.

For his part, the Yemeni Prime Minister and the members of the Yemeni Cabinet valued the continuous support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the Yemeni people under various circumstances, and its permanent commitment to support the government’s efforts and the sovereignty, security and stability of Yemen, adding that the Yemeni government counts on the support of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the GCC donors and the international community to provide the needs of the Yemeni government, in order to achieving economic stability in Yemen and alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people.

Dr. Maeen affirmed that the Yemeni-Yemeni consultations held under the GCC umbrella give a glimmer of hope to the Yemeni people and a great boost to the government’s efforts to achieve security, stability and prosperity, expressing his confidence in the success of these consultations to come up with visions and ideas that serve the Yemeni people.
