France: Arrest of 10 people in connection with the terrorist organization PKK​

Ten people were taken into custody on Tuesday March 23 following a raid against members of the PKK terrorist organization, French media revealed.

According to these media, the arrests were ordered by an anti-terrorism judge investigating suspicions of terrorist association.

The police thus carried out operations in several cities in order to arrest and place in police custody nine men and a woman on rogatory commission from a Parisian anti-terrorism investigating judge. According to judicial sources, the investigation carried out concerns people linked to the PKK terrorist organization for criminal terrorist association and for financing a terrorist enterprise.

According to sites close to the terrorist organization, "at least 6 houses, an association and a store belonging to Kurds were searched in Marseille on Tuesday and another arrest would have taken place in the Paris region".

This organization is classified as terrorist by Turkey but also by many countries including France, the United States, Canada and the European Union.

During a videoconference interview, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron had agreed to "cooperate better in the field of the fight against terrorism".

Some French politicians have accused Macron of "giving in to Erdogan". However, France conducts operations regularly against the PKK organization which endangers the interests of France.
