One single-engine AQUILA A212 type aircraft entered the inventory of the Gendarmerie General Command. The aircraft has a Rotan 914 type engine and GARMIN G500 series avionics. The owner of AQUILA is Celal Gökçen, a businessman from Bursa. Gökçen bought the company from the Germans in 2015.

Anyone know or can estimate a guess on the take off cost for these compared to say, a helicopter traffic police may use ?

I think as technology becomes more easily available we'll see many of these mini choppers or the type that PKK used to fly over the border.

Thus I think it's important to have passive radar relays (where it's necessary) and create a spiderweb that detects and reports these border movements to control center/AI that can switch to cameras that can zoom in on the object.

Not cheap of course and not starting on creating that web isn't going to make it easier when it becomes necessary.

Autogyro is a German company. Skyolympos is their Turkish partner and handle sale, training and maintenance of Autogyros and Sirius aircraft, as well as some ultralights in Turkey.

No info on unit costs but they use a simple 100hp Rotax engine like on TB2, so must be pretty cheap to run. Also see the soldiers operating it; only one officer and NCO as it has a single pilot, compared to usually 2 officer complement of helicopters.

I'm unsure if this is a better option than just getting more TB2s still.

Armored vehicle(looks like Ejder) rolled over in Tunceli, falling from some length. Probably caught fire as well from the photos available, 4 dead.

"Gizem Büyükçaylı, who lives with her family in Balıkesir because her husband is serving in Tunceli and she is 8 months pregnant, received the news of the martyrdom of her husband, Gendarmerie Specialist Sergeant Orhan Burak Büyükçaylı. Gizem Büyükçaylı, who collapsed upon this, was taken to the Gynecology Emergency Department of Balıkesir Atatürk City Hospital.

Büyükçaylı gave birth to a baby boy in a C-section operation."

After Kirpi proliferation in early 2010s we had multiple incidents. Better training fixed it to some degree. Now, after the army crash in Kıbrıs last month, another in Tunceli. From what I can see, gendarme still doesn't have a rollover and egress simulator. From everything available, this was a preventable incident. A kid will never be able to celebrate his birthday because it's the day his father died. We don't have the luxury of losing our best in incidents like these.

We are losing lifes because they are too careless to put on their seatbelts or the driver driving carefree like a hooligan, it's a 10+ ton vehicle you can't throw it into the corners, especially not on roads were you have such slops.

In this accident not one of them had their seatbelt on, now they are not more and left their families behind because two avoidable mistakes.

May they rest in peace and condolences to their families.

I was happy that we didnt get any news like these for a while.
Discipline and better training is needed to avoid these preventable accidents.

I think another problem is maintenance of those vehicles, especially air conditioning system can not be maintain in army also they doesnt send those modern vehicles to factory because of cost so soldiers had some problems with comfort, so no one wants to fasten their seat belt...
