How the Russians extinguish a fire with a nuke...

Back in the 60's there was a major but little known natural gas well fire that burned for 1074 days. Russians tried everything to try to put it out but nothing worked. It kept on burning and burning. And then someone came up with the bright idea of using a nuclear bomb. Here's a video of what happened:

Its not really related but in the movie the Core. Earth rotation stops because of EM blast. And mad scientists are gathered to blow 5 nuclear weapon in the inner mantlet of the Earth. This footage reminded me of that movie.

Yeah that was an awesome movie. It's probably scientifically not accurate, but still, it was fun to watch them drive through the layers of the earth in their "ship".
