TÜBİTAK-SAGE Unveils The KUZGUN Family

TÜBİTAK Defense Industry Research and Development Institute (SAGE) exhibits the Modular Ammunition Family, called KUZGUN, at the International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF'21).
3 different KUZGUN ammunitions named KUZGUN-KY, KUZGUN-TJ and KUZGUN-SS were showcased at the SAGE stand. According to the information obtained; The first firing tests of the KUZGUN Modular Ammunition Family are planned to be carried out this year.
KUZGUN Ammunition, which can be fired from F-16, MMU, HÜRJET, HÜRKUŞ and various UAV platforms, weighs less than 100 kilograms. KUZGUN Ammunition, which will have various warhead options such as particulate, penetrating, thermobaric and general purpose; It has navigation options with seeker head such as Laser Seeker (LAB), Imaging Infrared Seeker (IIR), Radar Seeker, HOJ, mmW Radar, Data Link, ANS and KKS.
SAGE Manager Gürcan OKUMUŞ explained the range values of the KUZGUN family during his presentation at the LAGARI Aviation Days held in the past months. KUZGUN-TJ, the turbojet configuration of the KUZGUN ammunition, will have a range of approximately 245 kilometers, and the KUZGUN-SS will have a range of approximately 110 kilometers.
The KUZGUN family will have a common structure that can be used from land and sea platforms as well as air platforms such as National Combat Aircraft, F-35, F-4E/2020, F-16 and S/UAV.
As the ammunition of the future, the KUZGUN family, which is planned to replace most of the existing ammunition, includes distributed targets (personnel with particle warhead - high effectiveness on armored elements), fixed air defense elements (particle warhead), industrial facilities (piercing or general purpose warheads), buildings. As a cost-effective solution with selectable warhead and seeker on all (penetrating warhead), buried/protected targets (penetrating warhead), caves (piercing or thermobaric warhead), and moving targets (laser seeker and particle warhead). will be used.
