How good they are when compared to western similar products
My question was specific to T-rex , I know some of their products with fusion of day and thremal imager are world classSeeing how IA selects and imports foreign maal first thing, I think these should be at least as good?
Tonbo has won a number of export orders from western countries (and others) if I'm not mistaken too.
Tonbo wins over N Africa, EU with $25m defence gear order
Startup will make and deploy night vision, thermal imaging & long-range surveillance systems, though it needs to tie up with local integrators to deploy it at client locationseconomictimes.indiatimes.com
The T-rex has been deployed at multiple theatres by IA and paramilitaries including LoC, Rajasthan and most recently Ladakh. IA doesn't really comment on the effectiveness of the systems they induct but given how they've deployed on multiple fronts...I assume it must be pretty goodHow good they are when compared to western similar products
They should tether it with some drone to cover a very very large area, complete passive surveillance :Tonbo's portable ultra long range multisensor surveillance system with HD thermal output is being pitched to ITBP...hopefully they procure some for the chinese border

Our drone scene is only recently picking up with IA placing a $20mn order for IdeaForge's Switch UAV while drone swarms have been displayed during a recent event...unsure who the manufacturer of those. We're looking good with Tonbo but more similar companies need to come up and able meet IA's stringent requirements. The easiest way to get into IA's books is to first sell their systems to foreign units...exactly what both Bangalore's Tonbo and Lucknow's MKU didThey should tether it with some drone to cover a very very large area, complete passive surveillance :

Just open source...I saw on reddit an Israeli unit sporting Tonbo sights which really got me interested in Tonbo's work. That post has been taken down for some reason or maybe I couldn't find it@Zapper seems like you know a lot about Tonbo imaging
There is one more Delhi based start up Cron systems, they are doing some decent work in border management tooOur drone scene is only recently picking up with IA placing a $20mn order for IdeaForge's Switch UAV while drone swarms have been displayed during a recent event...unsure who the manufacturer of those. Integrating vision systems and sights to drones isn't really a big issue...infact Tonbo also develops aerial systems

Their hummingbird 3500 system is in specific to UAVs. It should only be a software patch to integrate it with ground systems
