Well 300 is a heavy projectile, it's not optimized for range. In fact it's mostly for subsonic use with suppressors, but it does have supersonic rounds that are ok for some range. Inaccurate to compare it to rounds that are optimized for range

I was expecting this but this was sooner than I anticipated. If us army is gonna use this round as primary munition, other NATO armies should have stocks of this ammo too, so it makes sense for other NATO armies to make their own 6.8 rifles. But the round is proprietary afaik. They should pressure them to license it for cheap. Ofc NATO is no longer what it is but still

What are the features of the MPT-68?

Designed by MKE engineers, the MPT-68 is manufactured from special alloys with higher durability compared to standard steels. The rifle's resistance to high pressure has been increased through additional processing. The rifle, which has two firing modes (semi-automatic and automatic), weighs 4 kilograms. With a muzzle velocity of 900 m/s, the MPT-68 has a rate of fire of 700 (±100) rounds per minute and can effectively fire at a range of 800 meters.

The MPT-68, notable for its ergonomic design, is 1 meter long (with stock extended). Its adjustable (telescopic) stock offers ease of use. Thanks to its high-pressure, short-stroke gas piston system, the MPT-68 reduces heat and dust from reaching the mechanism, providing uninterrupted performance even under challenging conditions.
