Shameless self-promotion:

Interview with Infoglobal CEO, Adi Sasongko (in Indonesian):

A shorter, English version (albeit with a few editorial mistakes - my fault, sorry... 😖) can be read in this free downloadable e-magazine:

Did he just admit to want to copy some tech from KFX ?

Take that as you will. From what I can gather from his statement is that he'll use whatever he can get his hands on as learning materials.

Besides, I do think that they're not going to simply copy-paste things as they were.

"It was too minor of a goal", literally told for a drone? interesting indeed.

Well, double adour engine trainer is pretty realistic for us, I think.

But still, who is gonna build the airframe? Definitely not them.

He has big ambitions, that's for sure.

That still remains to be seen. I'm cautiously optimistic to expect that, at best, he can reach the goal of building a prototype in three years. But even if it becomes five, it's still something to celebrate about.

It would much more plausible to become reality if they don't force everything in house / locally.

From the look of it, Infoglobal is willing that their product to be installed, but due to the lack of airframe they decide to built their own (lol).

Tapi terlalu minor. Kenapa kita tidak melompatlah?

Why not start with the Flankers, replace the Russian avionics, mission computers etc with domestic ones.

They do have a project for those that have been going for some time. But I'm guessing that technical differences between Western and Russian-made avionics have made it a bit harder to proceed with the latter.

Heck, it might even be a lot easier to just rip off all of the Russian-made electronics and sensors from the Flankers and replace them with Western-made ones coupled with Infoglobal's avionics, than trying to reverse engineer specific avionic - like an MFD for Flanker, for example - and make it communicate well with the rest of the aircraft's system.

Indonesian booth at 12:29 timestamap, vietnam international defence expo 2022, if we really expect for our product to be selling, govt/defend.id/mindef or parties in charge should have spent more money on providing rent for bigger booth area and bring detailed mockups or even 1:1 scale of real product into event like this.
