Fatahillah and Malahayati Class Warships to be Strengthened with CMS Made by PT PAL
The Combat Management System (CMS) developed by PT PAL Indonesia is planned to be installed on the Fatahillah and Malahayati class warships, in order to improve the combat capabilities of the corvettes.
Developed since 2022, CMS is a system that integrates sensors to weapons in a warship. Then, this system provides a comprehensive view of the tactical situation and helps decision making.
"CMS calculates from all sensors and will provide input to the commander to use which weapon is most effective against the threat being faced at that time," said Enjud Darojat as General Manager of the Sewaco Division of PT PAL, in an interview on the sidelines of the Indo Defense 2024 Expo & Forum exhibition in Jakarta, Saturday (14/6).
He said that CMS is like the heart during war on a ship. Thus, it is very important for Indonesia to develop this system as well as an effort to encourage the independence of the defense industry.
After being developed for more than three years, this system is believed to meet the Domestic Component Level (TKDN) of more than 50 percent. The plan is, starting in 2026 this system will strengthen five Fast Patrol Boat (FPB) 57 class Missile Fast Boats (KCR) and Fatahillah and Malahayati class warships.
"The plan is, God willing, next year in 2026 we will start with the fast missile boats. Well, including yesterday we have surveyed for Fatahillah and Malahayati," he added. (bp)
Combat Management System (CMS) yang dikembangkan oleh PT PAL Indonesia rencananya akan dipasang pada kapal perang kelas Fatahillah dan Malahayati, guna meningkatkan kapabilitas tempur korvet tersebut.
