CIA assessment warns Israel risks civil war, state collapse: Report

A classified CIA assessment has warned that deepening political, economic and social fractures could put Israel at risk of civil war or state collapse, according to a report published Monday.

The assessment, titled “Fracture From Within,” was prepared in August by the CIA’s Red Cell, a unit tasked with challenging prevailing intelligence assumptions, Drop Site News reported, citing two US sources familiar with its contents.

The CIA did not respond to the outlet’s request for comment.

The assessment points to a volatile mix of pressures ahead of Israel’s Oct. 27 election, including economic strain, rising military spending, anger over exemptions from compulsory military service for ultra-Orthodox Jews and escalating violence by Israeli occupiers in the occupied West Bank.

It also identifies Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s fight to remain in power as a source of further political and constitutional tension.

Years of war in Gaza, Lebanon and Iran have deepened existing divisions, according to the report, as soldiers return from prolonged combat, many suffering serious psychological trauma.

The military draft dispute has emerged as one of Israel’s sharpest internal fault lines, with resentment growing over exemptions for ultra-Orthodox men following repeated reserve mobilizations.

The assessment also points to Israel’s growing international isolation, including eroding support in the US, as another factor that could deepen internal instability.

Yeah right

Bro, no offense, but an Israeli civil war will not happen since for a civil war to happen there must be a deep rift in ideologies/identities within two or more groups within Israel and that isnt the case. All of Israelis want war, annexation, blood, and death; what the Israelis are competing for is who will be at the helm and gain all the glory for their satanic zionist state.

From the outside it looks like rainbows and sunshine.

But there is a growing rift between Orthodox and secular Israelis.

The Ashkenazi-Mizrahi divide in Israel takes center stage

Yinon Magal, an Israeli far-right journalist, revealed the prevailing Ashkenazi perspective on Mizrahi Jews by referring to Gadi Eisenkot—Netanyahu’s primary rival—as "a monkey steered by all those elitist Ashkenazim."

In making this remark, Magal was pointing to Eisenkot’s Mizrahi roots, criticizing the Ashkenazi elite for potentially enabling a Mizrahi to become the Prime Minister of Israel for the first time in history.

-A class hierarchy exists in Israel, stemming from the heterogeneous nature of its Jewish population.

The founders of Israel and those who have dominated its politics have consistently been Ashkenazi Zionists—figures such as Theodor Herzl, the founding father of Zionism; David Ben-Gurion, considered the founder of the State of Israel; and Revisionist Zionists like Ze'ev Jabotinsky and Menachem Begin.

Over time, through successive waves of immigration (*Aliyah*), the number of Mizrahi and Sephardic Jews grew to account for 45–50% of the population, and their influence in the political sphere increased accordingly.

Nevertheless, the dominance of the Ashkenazim—who currently make up 35–40% of the population—has persisted. The most striking evidence of this is that every Israeli Prime Minister, from Ben-Gurion to Netanyahu, has been of Ashkenazi origin.

Beyond their control over the judiciary, academia, the upper echelons of the bureaucracy, the military high command, and the mainstream media, the Ashkenazi elite also occupy the top positions within Israel’s economic engines: the high-tech and finance sectors. Beyond these, Jews from the Caucasus and Central Asia who arrived through later waves of migration, Jews of Ethiopian origin (Falashas), and Indian Jews occupy the lower tiers of the system.
