Khulna University VC in the list of world's best scientists

Khulna University Vice Chancellor Dr Mahmud Hossain has been named as one of the world's best scientists in the AD Scientific Index 2021.

On Sunday, the international organization published the list based on the citations and other indexes of more than 700,000 scientists from 13,531 universities around the world.

In case of listing 708,480 scientists from around the world - 153,262 from Asia, 1,791 from Bangladesh and 29 scientists from Khulna University – their citations in the last five years were taken into consideration.

Professor Mahmud Hossain is a teacher, and researcher of the Forestry and Wood Technology discipline.

The researcher is ranked first in both agriculture and forestry, and separately in the forestry category, fourth among forestry scientists in the country, 151st among Asian scientists and 825th among scientists around the world.

Meanwhile, 28 more teachers and researchers of the university have been included in this list in different categories.

The vice chancellor extended his sincere greetings to all of them.

In a congratulatory message, he said: "This achievement will inspire research among the teachers and students of the university and lead the university on the path of prosperity.”
