According to military sources, the issue of the structure, composition and management system of the Land Forces is nearing completion. The Land Forces Command will report directly to the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, not to the Minister of Defense. According to the source, next year, the Navy, Air Force and Air Defense Forces will be subordinated to the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, as in Turkey, in the form of an independent military unit.
The Defense Ministry's press service said they were unaware of the issue.

In 2016 the Force Commands (Land, Air, Navy) were tied to the Ministry of Defence in Turkey. The General Staff was tied to the Presidency.
